Yacht Club Games, LLC is an American independent video game development studio and publisher founded in 2011 by former WayForward Technologies director Sean Velasco. [1] The company announced their first title, Shovel Knight , on March 14, 2013, and released it on June 26, 2014, after a successful Kickstarter campaign. [2] In 2016, the company announced that it would start publishing games from other companies, and that their first published game would be Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, a compilation containing Azure Striker Gunvolt and Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 , which was released later that year. [3] Their second published title was Cyber Shadow , a game developed by Mechanical Head Studios, which was released in 2021. [4] In February 2022, the company announced their second original title, Mina the Hollower . [5]

Shovel Knight is a platform video game developed and published by Yacht Club Games. Development was crowdfunded and the game was released for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and Windows in June 2014. It was ported to OS X and Linux in September 2014, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One in April 2015, Amazon Fire TV in September 2015, and Nintendo Switch in March 2017. Mighty Gunvolt is a platform game developed and published by Inti Creates. The game is a spin-off accompaniment to Inti Creates' Azure Striker Gunvolt game, additionally featuring characters from Gal*Gun and Mighty No. 9. The game was released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan and North America in August 2014, and later in PAL regions in April 2015. A port for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, titled Gal Gunvolt, was released in Japan in August 2015. A version of the original Mighty Gunvolt was released for Microsoft Windows, and was available for free to purchasers of Azure Striker Gunvolt within the first month of its release. A sequel, Mighty Gunvolt Burst, was released in June 2017.

Azure Striker Gunvolt, known as Armed Blue: Gunvolt in Japan, is a 2D side-scrolling action-platform game developed and published by Inti Creates. It was first released for Nintendo 3DS via eShop in August 2014. Ports of the game were released for Windows in 2015, for Nintendo Switch in 2017, for PlayStation 4 in 2020, and for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2022. In addition to utilizing gameplay similar to Mega Man Zero, Azure Striker Gunvolt also introduced new gameplay elements such as Gunvolt's ability to "tag" enemies and target many at once, adding an additional layer of complexity to the genre.

It was released on December 13, 2021 for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The story follows protagonist Shovel Knight as he becomes trapped within a magical artifact, the Pocket Dungeon, and is forced to fight his way out while battling other knights who befell the same fate. The game was positively received by critics, who noted its graphics, soundtrack and easy-to-learn yet deep gameplay as strong points.

<i>Shovel Knight Dig</i> 2022 video game

Shovel Knight Dig is a roguelite platform game developed by Nitrome and Yacht Club Games. It is the third game of the Shovel Knight series and a prequel to the original. The game follows protagonist Shovel Knight as he fights enemies and collects treasure while journeying down a hole to recover his stolen treasure bag from a thief named Drill Knight. When the player dies, they lose all obtained upgrades, returning to the surface with a fraction of the treasure they collected while playing. At the surface, they can spend treasure on a variety of items that make gameplay easier.

<i>Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment</i> 2017 video game downloadable content

Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment is a downloadable content (DLC) expansion for the 2014 platform game Shovel Knight, developed and published by Yacht Club Games. The expansion is a prequel to the original game, where the player takes the role of Specter Knight, an undead warrior tasked with recruiting a group of knights for his master, the Enchantress. Specter Knight can run up walls and jump off of them, and slash through enemies and objects with his scythe to move through the air. Gameplay is similar to the original Shovel Knight, but features redesigned levels and altered boss fights.

Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows is a downloadable content (DLC) expansion for the 2014 platform game Shovel Knight, developed and published by Yacht Club Games. In the expansion, the player takes control of Plague Knight, an alchemist on a journey to create the ultimate potion, capable of granting any of its user's desires. Gameplay is similar to that of the original Shovel Knight, but features a new story and main protagonist. Plague Knight attacks by throwing alchemical potions that explode, and has the ability to double jump. He can also and can charge up an even higher jump that sends him forward through the air. The expansion received generally positive reviews upon release.
