BlueSky Open Platform is an open-source software e-learning project designed to balance education resources between well-developed Chinese cities and poor regions of China. It was a collaboration between Xi'an Jiaotong University and IBM. In 2006 BlueSky won the China National Science and Technology Progress Award. [1]

Xi'an, also known as Sian, is the capital of Shaanxi Province. International Collegiate Programming Contest

The International Collegiate Programming Contest, known as the ICPC, is an annual multi-tiered competitive programming competition among the universities of the world. Headquartered at Baylor University, directed by ICPC Executive Director and Baylor Professor Dr. William B. Poucher, the ICPC operates autonomous regional contests covering six continents culminating in a global World Finals every year. In 2018, ICPC participation included 52,709 students from 3,233 universities in 110 countries.

Xi'an Jiaotong University is a C9 League university with strengths in engineering, technology, management, and life sciences located in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Class A Double First Class University. XJTU's twenty schools comprise a comprehensive research university offering programs in nine areas: science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, art, law, philosophy and education.

Beijing Jiaotong University

Beijing Jiaotong University, formerly Northern Jiaotong University, is one of the oldest universities in mainland China. The main campus is located at Haidian District, near Xizhimen in central Beijing. Its longitude and latitude coordinates are 116.348 degrees east and 39.959 degrees north. The university's name is often abbreviated by locals to BeiJiaoDa (北交大). JiaoDa is a participant in the Ministry of Education's Project 211, classifying it as a top Chinese university. It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Double First Class Discipline University, with Double First Class status in certain disciplines. Beijing Jiaotong university is one of the prominent universities in the world in regard of Transportation Science and Technology. According to the shanghai subject ranking 2018 for Transportation Science and Technology, BJTU has achieved the first place all over the world.

The Special Class for the Gifted Young is a program aimed to select gifted young students to enter the universities in China. First established in 1978 at the University of Science and Technology of China, it was a major innovation in China's higher education. The idea was suggested by renowned scientists such as Tsung-Dao Lee, C. N. Yang, and Samuel C. C. Ting, and supported by the then Vice-premier of the State Council Fang Yi. The objective of the class is to explore the most efficient ways to nurture promising youth. Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Jilin University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology also launched similar programs. But they were all shut down for all kinds of reasons. Currently, only the University of Science and Technology of China and Xi'an Jiaotong University still have this program.

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is an international joint university based in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. Founded in 2006 and resulting from a partnership between the University of Liverpool and Xi'an Jiaotong University, it is the first Sino-British joint venture between research led universities.

Dalian Software Park

Dalian Software Park, also called DLSP, is an industrial zone, created in 1998 in the western suburbs of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, China, where many of the world's large and medium-sized IT-related companies have set up shop to do software development and information services. It is part of Dalian Hi-Tech Zone in the broader sense. While American and European companies typically have gone to Bangalore and other cities in India because of the English language capability, Japanese companies have gone to Dalian and other cities in China due to the Japanese language capability.

The High School Affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University or HSXJTU, is an affiliated high school established in 1959 and rebuilt in 1981 in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. Its predecessor is The Middle School Affiliated to Nanyang Public School which was established in Shanghai in 1896. In 1991, HSXJTU was awarded the title of the key high school of Xi'an and Shaanxi province. In December, 2008, it was chosen as the first batch of demonstration high school in Shaanxi. The school is located in the southeast of Xi'an, and its two different campuses are individually in Beilin District and Yanta District.

Chen Xuejun was a Chinese physicist. He was a thermal power engineering scientist, professor and former vice president of Xi'an Jiaotong University. He graduated from National Central University with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He studied in the graduate school of Purdue University in the United States. He was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and of The World Academy of Sciences.

Xi'an University of Science and Technology is a university located in Xi'an. The university has a relative history, the earliest history started from the North Ocean University, which was founded in 1895. In July 1938, the Industry faculty of North Ocean University merged with Mining and Metallurgy faculty of Northwest University. In 1957, the Mining and Metallurgy faculty of Northwest was distributed to Xi'an Jiaotong University. On September 15, 1958, the Xi'an Mining Industry College was founded on the foundation of mining industry faculty and geology faculty of Xi'an Jiaotong University. The former president of China Academy of Science Guo Moro named the college. With the approval of the Education Ministry of China, the college was distributed to the Government of Shaanxi Province and the name of the college was changed to Xi'an University of Science and Technologies in June 1999.

Suzhou Dushu Lake Higher Education Town

Suzhou Dushu Lake Higher Education Town is a university town located in the Southern part of Suzhou Industrial Park, Suzhou, Jiangsu, to the East of Dushu Lake, and to the South of Wusong River. It has a total area of 25 km2, and expects to have around 400,000 people by 2016, 100,000 of whom will be students. Its goal is to offer good education, advanced technology, and a pleasant living environment. The area is home to many universities including local Chinese universities and universities from other countries. This community focuses on producing educated and creative people. The area offers facilities including libraries, entertainment venues, parks, a sports centre and accommodation. Wenxing Plaza and Hanlin Plaza are popular locations of many small restaurants and shops. Dushu Lake Library is an experimental library of the National Digital Library.

Wang Dongfeng is a Chinese politician and current Communist Party Secretary of Hebei province. He was formerly the Mayor of Tianjin, one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China. Born in Xi'an, Wang spent his early career in his home province of Shaanxi. He then served in the State Administration for Industry and Commerce before being transferred to Tianjin.

University Alliance of the Silk Road

The University Alliance of the Silk Road is an academic arm to the People's Republic of China's One Belt, One Road foreign policy initiative. The UASR is a non-profit university alliance based at Xi'an Jiaotong University, a C9 League university in western China. The mission of the UASR is to build educational collaboration and promote economic growth in countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt.

Gang Hua

Gang Hua is a Chinese-American computer scientist who specializes in the field of computer vision and pattern recognition. He is an IEEE Fellow, IAPR Fellow and ACM Distinguished Scientist. He is a key contributor to Microsoft's Facial Recognition technologies.

Li Yumin is a Chinese translator and professor at the Capital Normal University. He is most notable for being one of the main translators into Chinese of the works of French literature, such as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Les Misérables, The Three Musketeers, and The Count of Monte Cristo.

Lin Zonghu was a Chinese thermal engineer and professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University. Known for the "Lin formula" which is widely used in two-phase flow measurements, he was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Xiaoyu Luo is a Chinese and British applied mathematician who studies biomechanics, fluid dynamics, and the interactions of fluid flows with soft biological tissues. She is a professor of applied mathematics at the University of Glasgow.
