The Mandi House metro station is located on the Blue Line and Violet Line of the Delhi Metro [1] in Delhi, India. It services the cultural hub of Delhi, the Mandi House area which has the National School of Drama, Ravindra Bhavan, home of Sangeet Natak Akademi and Sahitya Akademi, Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts and Triveni Kala Sangam, As well as the Bengali Market and the nearby residential areas.

History

As part of Phase III of the extension of Delhi Metro, Mandi House will be expanded into an interchange station in order to reduce pressure on Rajiv Chowk station. [2] [3] A new 6.8-km line has come up from Central Secretariat to a new station at Kashmere Gate by 26 June 2014 from Central Secretariat to Mandi House,8 June 2015 from Mandi House to ITO and 28 May 2017 from ITO to Kashmere Gate. The new line will be developed on standard gauge and integrated with the Badarpur corridor, which too runs on standard gauge. As the existing Mandi House station has broad-gauge tracks, Metro officials are now working on plans to develop a parallel station at the same site. [4] [5]

Inderlok is an interchange metro station of the Red Line and Green Line of Delhi Metro. The station is the terminal for the Green Line to Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh, which is located in Bahadurgarh district of Haryana.One interesting thing about the Inderlok station is that the Green Line meets the Red Line perpendicularly here, unlike all the other interchange stations. This design choice ended the possibility of extending the line in the future.
