The Rt. Rev. Vedanayagam Devasahayam was an Indian bishop in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. [1] He was the Bishop of Madras from 1999 to 2014.

An auxiliary bishop is a bishop assigned to assist the diocesan bishop in meeting the pastoral and administrative needs of the diocese. Auxiliary bishops can also be titular bishops of sees that no longer exist as territorial jurisdictions.

Miletopolis or Miletoupolis (Μιλητούπολις) was a town in the north of ancient Mysia, at the confluence of the rivers Macestus and Rhyndacus, and on the west of the lake which derives its name from the town. It was a Milesian colony. Strabo mentions that a part of the inhabitants of the town were transferred to Gargara at some indeterminant time.
The Bishop of Maidstone is an episcopal title used by a suffragan bishop of the Church of England Diocese of Canterbury, in the Province of Canterbury, England. The title takes its name after the county town of Maidstone in Kent and formerly had a similar though subordinate role to that of the Bishop of Dover. It was decided at the diocesan synod of November 2010 that a new bishop would not be appointed; rather the Archdeaconry of Ashford was erected.

Doara was a town of ancient Cappadocia, inhabited in Byzantine times. It was in the Chamanene prefecture created by Archelaus of Cappadocia during Hellenistic times. The town appears on the Peutinger Table between Caesarea and Tavium. It was also mentioned by Hierocles as Rhegedoara (Ῥεγεδοάρα), and the Notitiae Episcopatuum.
Dionysiopolis or Dionysopolis, was a city of Phrygia in Asia Minor. The demonym Dionysopolitae (Διονυσοπολείτης) occurs on medals, and in a letter of M. Cicero to his brother Quintus, in which he speaks of the people of Dionysopolis being very hostile to Quintus, which must have been for something that Quintus did during his praetorship of Asia. Pliny places the Dionysopolitae in the conventus of Apamea, which is all the ancient writers note of their position. We may infer from the coin that the place was on the Maeander, or near it. Stephanus of Byzantium says that it was founded by Attalus and Eumenes. Stephanus mentions another Dionysopolis in Pontus, originally called Cruni, and he quotes two verses of Scymnus about it; however, the town of Dionysupolis in Thrace but on the Pontus, rather than in Pontus could be meant.
