The mayor's office administers all city services, public property, police and fire protection, most public agencies, and enforces all city and state laws within New York City.

Larry Koon was a published author and newspaper columnist who specialized in antiques and collectibles. Koon was born April 26, 1946, in Ripley, West Virginia, where he was also raised. Koon wrote several books on antiques and collectibles, and was the first to write a book on specialized auction markets. Koon also wrote a weekly antiques column for The Marietta Times. His column also appeared in A Woman's View Magazine and other publications around the country. Koon died December 30, 2012.

Robert Moses Playground is a 1.3-acre (0.53 ha) playground and park in Manhattan, New York City. It is located in the Murray Hill neighborhood on First Avenue between 41st and 42nd streets, immediately south of the headquarters of the United Nations. The park is named for New York's "master builder" Robert Moses, the former head of the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, who later advocated to save the park when a skyscraper was proposed on the site in the early 1980s.

The word "davenport," meaning a boxy sofa or sleeper-sofa, comes from the company.

William Walker Morris was a British nineteenth-century painter of the Victorian period who worked in Greenwich and Deptford, England, and was known particularly for his bucolic genre oil paintings depicting sporting and homestead life, with an emphasis on hunting dogs. His works draw upon the imagery of life in the Scottish Highlands. He died at some time from 1867 to 1881.
