The Hardee Correctional Institution is a state prison for men located in Bowling Green, Hardee County, Florida, owned and operated by the Florida Department of Corrections. [1] This facility has a mix of security levels, including minimum, medium, and close, and houses adult male offenders.

Hardee first opened in 1991 and has a maximum capacity of 1541 prisoners.

In 2015, a campus of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary was established in the penitentiary. [2]

Florida State Prison (FSP), otherwise known as Raiford Prison, is a correctional institution located in unincorporated Bradford County, Florida, with a Starke postal address. It was formerly known as the "Florida State Prison-East Unit" as it was originally part of Florida State Prison near Raiford. The facility, a part of the Florida Department of Corrections, is located on State Road 16 right across the border from Union County. The institution opened in 1961, even though construction was not completed until 1968. With a maximum population of over 1,400 inmates, FSP is one of the largest prisons in the state. FSP houses Florida's one of two male death row cell blocks and the State of Florida execution chamber. Union Correctional Institution also houses male death row inmates while Lowell Annex houses female death row inmates.

Green Haven Correctional Facility is a maximum security prison in New York. The prison is located in the Town of Beekman in Dutchess County. The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision lists the address as Route 216, Stormville, NY 12582. This prison housed New York's execution chamber during the time the state briefly had the death penalty in the post-Furman era. It was originally a federal prison and now houses maximum security inmates. Green Haven Correctional Facility also operated a Hot Kosher Foods Program; but no longer does as of 2020. However, because of this, the prison had a large Jewish population. Yale Law School operates the Green Haven Prison Project, a series of seminars among Yale law students and Green Haven inmates on law and policy issues concerning prisons and criminal law.

The Riverbend Maximum Security Institution (RMSI) is a prison in Nashville, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. Mansfield Correctional Institution (MANCI) is an Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction mixed-security state prison for men, located at 1150 North Main Street in Mansfield, Ohio, adjacent to the property of the historic Ohio State Reformatory. Ohio's Richland Correctional Institution is also located in Mansfield.
