Northeast Correctional Center is a Missouri Department of Corrections state prison for men located in Bowling Green, Pike County, Missouri. [1] The facility opened in 1998 and has a working capacity of 2,098.

Incidents

A prisoner was found dead on the baseball field within the facility in 2005. [2]

Correctional Officer Maggie Long was stabbed several times on July 26, 2017. [3]

Pike County, Missouri U.S. county in Missouri

Pike County is a county on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Missouri, bounded by the Mississippi River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,516. Its county seat is Bowling Green. Its namesake was a city in middle Kentucky, a region from where many early migrants came. The county was organized December 14, 1818, and named for explorer Zebulon Pike. The folksong "Sweet Betsy from Pike" is generally thought to be associated with Pike County, Missouri.

The Women's Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center (WERDCC) is a prison in Vandalia, Missouri, in the United States. It is a part of the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The Pendleton Correctional Facility, formerly known as the Indiana Reformatory, is a state prison located in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, near Pendleton and about 25 miles (40 km) northeast of Indianapolis. Established in 1923, it was built to replace the Indiana State Reformatory located in Jeffersonville after a fire severely damaged the original property. The Pendleton facility currently offers maximum and minimum-security housing for adult males over 22 years old. The maximum-security portion is made up of 31 acres (130,000 m2) surrounded by a concrete wall. It has an average daily population of approximately 1,650 inmates. Located on the grounds outside the enclosure, the minimum-security dormitory holds approximately 200 prisoners on a daily basis.

The Limon Correctional Facility is a Level IV, mixed-custody Colorado state prison for men, located in Limon, Lincoln County, Colorado, owned and operated by the Colorado Department of Corrections. The facility opened in 1991, and houses a stated maximum of 960 prisoners.

Missouri State Penitentiary

The Missouri State Penitentiary was a prison in Jefferson City, Missouri, that operated from 1836 to 2004. Part of the Missouri Department of Corrections, it served as the state of Missouri's primary maximum security institution. Before it closed, it was the oldest operating penal facility west of the Mississippi River. It was replaced by the Jefferson City Correctional Center, which opened on September 15, 2004.

Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women (LCIW) is a prison for women with its permanent pre-2016 facility located in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. It is the only female correctional facility of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is immediately west of LCIW. LCIW includes the state's female death row. As of 2017 the prison has temporarily moved due to flooding that occurred in August 2016, and its prisoners are housed in other prisons. The administration is temporarily located in the former Jetson Youth Center near Baker. By 2021 the Baker area address was given for the prison on the LCIW website.

Delta Correctional Facility was a Mississippi Department of Corrections state prison for men, one of opened in the late 20th century and early 21st century in the state, and operated by for-profit corporations. Located in Greenwood, Leflore County, Mississippi, in the largely rural Mississippi Delta region, it was initially operated by Corrections Corporation of America, which changed its name to CoreCivic in 2014.

Hays State Prison is a Georgia Department of Corrections state prison for men located at 777 Underwood Drive in Trion, Chattooga County, Georgia. The facility opened in 1990 and currently has a capacity of 1683 prisoners.

Western Missouri Correctional Center

Western Missouri Correctional Center (WMCC) is a Missouri Department of Corrections state prison for men located in Cameron, DeKalb County, Missouri. According to the Official Manual State of Missouri the facility has a capacity of 1925 medium security prisoners.

Wilkinson County Correctional Center (WCCC) is a private prison in unincorporated Wilkinson County, Mississippi, managed since July 2013 by Management and Training Corporation (MTC) on a five-year contract with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
