Isfahan is a major city in the Central District of Isfahan County, Isfahan province, Iran. It is the capital of the province, the county, and the district. It is located 440 kilometres south of Tehran. The city has a population of approximately 2,220,000, making it the third-most populous city in Iran, after Tehran and Mashhad, and the second-largest metropolitan area.

Gavkhouni also written as Gawkhuni or Batlaq-e-Gavkhuni, located in the Iranian Plateau in central Iran, east of the city of Isfahan, is the terminal basin of the Zayandeh River. Gavkhouni is a salt marsh with a salinity of 31.5% and an average depth of about 1 m. The salt marsh can dry up in summer. The Zayandeh River originates in the Zagros mountains, and travels around 300 km, before terminating in Gavkhouni.

The 2011–12 season are the Esteghlal Football Club's 11th season in the Iran Pro League, and their 18th consecutive season in the top division of Iranian football. They are also competing in the Hazfi Cup and AFC Champions League, and 67th year in existence as a football club. Mojtaba Jabbari and Arash Borhani both with 13 goals are the top scorers of Esteghlal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Islamic City Council of Tabriz</span> Islamic City Council of Tabriz elections and the budgets of the municipality of Tabriz

The Islamic City Council of Tabriz is the elected council that presides over the city of Tabriz, elects the Mayor of Tabriz, and budgets of the Municipality of Tabriz. The council is composed of twenty-one members elected from single-member districts for four-year terms. The Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Council are chosen by the council at the first regular meeting in odd-numbered years. In the last election between Principlists and reformers, Principlists won the most seats.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tehran–Qom–Isfahan high-speed rail</span> First high-speed rail project under construction in Iran

Tehran–Qom–Isfahan high-speed rail is the first truly high-speed rail project in Iran. Construction began on 25 February 2015. The rail line would decrease travel times between Tehran and Isfahan, passing through Qom. It connects Isfahan and Qom to Imam Khomeini International Airport.

Imam Khomeini Streetبزرگراه دو طبقه امام خمینی (ره) اصفهان is one of the most famous streets in the 12th district of Isfahan Province, Iran. In fact, the concrete flyover bridge that was built over it and its importance, made this street eminent and hard to ignore. It is also the way between Kharrazi Expressway and Isfahan-Tehran freeway.

Commerce has always been central to the growth of Isfahan, to the extent that the Safavid Shah Abbas I (1588–1629) effectively re-routed the Silk Road through Isfahan. As of 2019, economic transparency is lacking in Isfahan. The Association of Mass Builders of Housing and Construction is an institution to encourage professionalism and create a suitable platform for investment. The Isfahan 1405 (2026) strategic plan is the sixth five-year plan of the city that has been uploaded on the municipal transparency site, and citizens can view it.

Isfahan Police Department is a police agency in Isfahan. In 2020 Isfahan Cyber Police's new building was opened.

Isfahan Fire and Safety Department of Isfahan Municipality سازمان آتش نشانی و خدمات ایمنی شهر اصفهان operate through 27 fire stations and one staff offices in Isfahan city based in Bozorgmehr bridge square. It has the only fire lab in Iran or West Asia.

District 13 is one of the largest of Isfahan's fifteen districts.

District 5 is a district in the Iranian city of Isfahan. It was part of region 2 until 1971. The district has the administration of Sepahan Shahr and Mount Sofeh. 28 percent of the district is militarized.

Risbaf was a textile spinning factory built in 1932 in Iranian city of Isfahan by German architects Max Oto Shonman and Iranian master builders called "Ostadmemars".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Neshan</span>

Neshan is an Iranian maps and navigation mobile application. It is a product of Fanap holding backed Razhman Data Structures. It also supports voice commands. It also shows the most fastest possibly route in Iranian cities. It has more than 10 million users. During 2019-2020 pandemic it showed crowded locations.
