Łazy [ˈwazɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Łuków, within Łuków County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) east of Łuków and 75 km (47 mi) north of the regional capital Lublin. [1]

Gmina Łuków is a rural gmina in Łuków County, Lublin Voivodeship, in eastern Poland. Its seat is the town of Łuków, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina.

It was established on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Łuków, which lies 76 kilometres (47 mi) north of the regional capital Lublin. The only other town in the county is Stoczek Łukowski, lying 30 km (19 mi) west of Łuków.

Henryk Pachulski the pianist and composer was born here, as was his elder brother Władysław Pachulski, also a musician who became the son-in-law of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's patroness Nadezhda von Meck and played a significant role in the breakdown of their relationship.

Władysław Pachulski was a Polish violinist, pianist and amateur composer who was the secretary to and later son-in-law of Nadezhda von Meck, the patroness for 13 years of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Pachulski was often the intermediary between composer and patroness, who had agreed never to meet face to face but to conduct an epistolary relationship. He played a significant role in the events surrounding the sudden break between them in 1890, and probably even instigated it.
