16 wit Dre, Vol. 2 is a 2006 remix album by deceased hyphy Bay Area rapper Mac Dre mixed by DJ Backside.

The term hyphy is Oakland slang meaning "hyperactive". More specifically it is an adjective describing the music and the culture associated with that area. The term was first coined by Oakland rapper Keak da Sneak.

Mac Dre American rapper

Andre Louis Hicks, known professionally as Mac Dre, was an American rapper and record producer based in Oakland, CA. He was instrumental in the emergence of Hyphy, a cultural movement in the Bay Area hip-hop scene that emerged in the early 00s. Hicks is considered one of the movement's key pioneers that fueled it's popularity into mainstream, releasing songs with fast-paced rhymes and baselines that inspired a new style of dance. As the founder of the independent record label, Thizz Entertainment, Hicks recorded dozens of albums and gave aspiring rappers an outlet to release albums locally. In 2004, Hicks killed by an unknown assailant after a music performance in Kansas City, Missouri, In 2011, Time Magazine reported that his murder was still unsolved.

"What Would You Do" is the debut single from Death Row Records duo Tha Dogg Pound, released in 1995 as the B-side to the Dr. Dre and Sam Sneed single "U Better Recognize", along with DJ Quik's "Dollaz + Sense." It had appeared on the soundtrack to Murder Was the Case the year before, alongside songs by Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Sam Sneed and other Death Row-affiliated artists. The song also appears on the Natural Born Killers soundtrack, and is the only song from that soundtrack which does not appear in the movie Natural Born Killers. While the notes originally credited solely Daz as producer, Snoop Dogg later revealed that—among other Daz Dillinger tracks—the song was co-produced by Dre. It is considered to be a diss song towards B.G. Knocc Out, Dresta, Eazy-E & Cold 187um. Eazy-E responded with the tracks "Ole School Shit" and his own version of "What Would You Do" called "Wut Would You Do". B.G. Knocc Out & Dresta responded with "D.P.G./K".
