The Stetson Hatters are composed of 18 teams representing Stetson University in intercollegiate athletics. The Hatters compete in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the ASUN Conference for most sports, except for the football team, which competes in the Pioneer Football League. Their mascot is John B.

The Stetson Hatters football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Stetson University located in the U.S. state of Florida. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and are members of the Pioneer Football League. Stetson's first football team was fielded in 1901, but the school dropped the sport in 1956 and did not reinstate it until 2013. The team plays its home games at the 6,000 seat Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand, Florida. The Hatters are coached by Brian Young.

Herbert Raymond "Hub" McQuillan was an American football and basketball coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Stetson University from 1924 to 1934 and again from 1955 to 1956, compiling a record of 50–42–8. McQuillan was also the head basketball coach at Stetson from 1924 to 1935, at Texas A&M University from 1935 to 1941, and at Texas Christian University from 1941 to 1948, amassing a career college basketball record of 220–224.

Donald Payne is an American football linebacker for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. He played college football at Stetson and was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2017 as the first player from Stetson to play in the NFL. He has also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Washington Football Team, the Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers.

Stetson Fleming Bennett IV is an American football quarterback who played for the Georgia Bulldogs and Jones County Bobcats. Nicknamed "the Mailman", he started his career as a walk-on at Georgia before transferring to Jones County Junior College. Bennett transferred back to Georgia, which won consecutive national championships in 2022 and 2023.

The 1951 Richmond Spiders football team was an American football team that represented the University of Richmond as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) during the 1951 college football season. Led by first-year head coach Ed Merrick, the Spiders compiled an overall record of 3–8 with a mark of 2–6 in conference play, tying for 12th place in the SoCon. The team's captain was Johnny Mac Brown.
