1906 college football season American college football season

The 1906 college football season was the first in which the forward pass was permitted. Although there was no clear cut national championship, there were two teams that had won all nine of their games as the 1906 season drew to a close, the Princeton Tigers and the Yale Bulldogs, and on November 17, 1906, they played to a 0–0 tie. St. Louis University finished at 11–0–0. The Helms Athletic Foundation, founded in 1936, declared retroactively that Princeton had been the best college football team of 1906. Other selectors recognized Yale as the national champions for 1906.

1905–06 FA Cup Football tournament season

The 1905–06 FA Cup was the 35th staging of the world's oldest association football competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup. Everton won the competition for the first time, beating Newcastle United 1–0 in the final at Crystal Palace.

The 1906 VFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Carlton Football Club and Fitzroy Football Club, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on 22 September 1906. It was the 9th annual Grand Final of the Victorian Football League, staged to determine the premiers for the 1906 VFL season. The match, attended by 44,437 spectators, was won by Carlton by a margin of 49 points, marking that club's first VFL premiership victory.

The 1906 Wisconsin Badgers football team represented the University of Wisconsin as a member of the Western Conference during the 1906 college football season. Led by first-year head coach Charles P. Hutchins, the Badgers compiled an overall record of 5–0 with a mark of 3–0 in conference play, sharing the Western Conference title with 1906 Michigan Wolverines football team and 1906 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. The team's captain was Warren A. Gelbach.

1906 VFA season

The 1906 Victorian Football Association season was the 30th season of the Australian rules football competition. The premiership was won by the West Melbourne Football Club, after defeating Footscray in the close final by eleven points. It was the first and only premiership won by West Melbourne during its nine-season stint in the VFA.

The 1906 Princeton Tigers football team represented Princeton University in the 1906 college football season. In their first season under head coach Bill Roper, the team compiled a 9–0–1 record, shut out eight of ten opponents, and outscored all opponents by a total of 205 to 9. Herb Dillon was the team captain.

1906 Yale Bulldogs football team American college football season

The 1906 Yale Bulldogs football team was an American football team that represented Yale University as an independent during the 1906 college football season. The team compiled a 9–0–1 record, shut out nine of ten opponents, and outscored all opponents by a total of 144 to 7. Four Yale players were selected as consensus All-Americans, and the team was retroactively selected by multiple selectors as the national champion for 1906.

The 1906 Harvard Crimson football team represented Harvard University in the 1906 college football season. The Crimson finished with a 10–1 record under second-year head coach Bill Reid. The team won its first ten games by a combined 167–20 score, but lost its final game against rival Yale by a 6–0 score. Walter Camp selected only one Harvard player, guard Francis Burr, as a first-team player on his 1906 College Football All-America Team. Caspar Whitney selected two Harvard players as first-team members of his All-America team: Burr and tackle Charles Osborne.

The 1906 Copa del Rey Final was the 4th final of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The match took place on 10 April 1906 at the Hipódromo, Madrid. The match was contested by Athletic Bilbao and Madrid FC, and saw Madrid FC win 4-1 with braces from Manuel Prast and Pedro Parages, thus lifting the trophy for the second time in their history.

The 1906 Cornell Big Red football team was an American football team that represented Cornell University during the 1906 college football season. In their fifth, non-consecutive season under head coach Pop Warner, the Big Red compiled an 8–1–2 record, shut out 6 of 11 opponents, and outscored all opponents by a combined total of 237 to 37. Three Cornell players received honors on the 1906 College Football All-America Team: guard Elmer Thompson ; center William Newman (Whitney-1); and fullback George Walders (Whitney-2).
