The 1937 Liga Bet season was the second tier league of the Palestine League organized by the EIFA. The North division was won by Hapoel Herzliya, [1] while the southern division was won by Maccabi Nes Tziona. [2] The two divisional winners played for one allocated place in the top division, with Maccabi Nes Tziona winning the play-off. [3] However, Hapoel Herzliya was promoted as well by the league and cup committee. [1]

The 1951–52 Liga Bet season saw Hapoel Balfouria and Hapoel Kfar Saba promoted to Liga Alef. Hapoel Kfar Ata of the North Division, Maccabi Nes Tziona and Hapoel HaNamal Jaffa of the South Division were all relegated. Shlomo Poliakov was a Russian-born Jewish footballer, who played for Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Petah Tikva and later as manager for several Hapoel clubs and for Hapoel Tel Aviv's youth team.

The 1954–55 Maccabi Haifa season was the club's 42nd season since its establishment, in 1913, and 7th since the establishment of the State of Israel.
