Hapoel Rishon LeZion F.C. is an Israeli football club based in the city of Rishon LeZion, which currently plays in Liga Leumit, Israel's second football division. Home matches are hosted at the Haberfeld Stadium. In 1991, the club changed its name to Hapoel Ironi Rishon LeZion, and in June 2008 the name was switched back to Hapoel Rishon LeZion following a change in ownership.
Liga Alef is the third tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into two regional divisions, north and south.

F.C. Shikun HaMizrah, Moadon Sport Shikun HaMizrah, lit. Shikun HaMizrah Sport Club is an Israeli football club which representing Shikun HaMizrah neighborhood in Rishon LeZion. The club currently plays in Liga Alef South division.
The 2011–12 Liga Bet season saw Tzeirei Bir al-Maksur, Hapoel Migdal HaEmek, Hapoel Azor and Maccabi Sha'arayim win their regional divisions and qualify for promotion play-offs. Hapoel Migdal HaEmek and Maccabi Sha'arayim won the promotion play-offs and promoted to Liga Alef, while Tzeirei Bir al-Maksur and Hapoel Azor played for promotion against the 14th ranked club from Liga Alef, Hapoel Azor winning and gaining promotion as well and Tzeirei Bir al-Maksur losing and remaining in Liga Bet.
