The 1959 AFC Youth Championship was held in Kuala Lumpur, Federation of Malaya. It was the first time the tournament was organised.

The 1963 ABC Championship was the second edition of the ABC Championship, a tournament which was held by FIBA Asia since 1960. The tournament which was held in Taipei, Taiwan saw eight teams compete in a round-robin tournament with the top four teams qualifying through to the championship round where they played each other again one more time. The bottom four teams would compete in a classification round.

The Bhutan national futsal team represents Bhutan in men's international futsal. The team is controlled by the governing body of football and futsal in Bhutan, the Bhutan Football Federation, which is currently a member of the Asian Football Federation and the regional body the South Asian Football Federation. Futsal used to be very much in an embryonic stage of development in Bhutan, with the team only having played eight competitive matches. A national team was selected at very short notice for the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Incheon, Korea, in 2013. In their first game, they were soundly beaten 29–1 by Thailand, despite scoring through Dawa Dhendup in the first minute. The team is currently ranked 150th and last in the world futsal rankings. By establishing National League and investing in futsal infrastructure, conditions have significantly improved since then.

The 2017 Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship was the 2nd edition of the Asian Women's U23 Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA). It was held in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 13 to 21 May 2017. The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship held in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia with the top two ranked teams qualifying for the world championship.

Cheung Wai Ki is a Hong Kong football player who played as a midfielder for Kitchee in the Hong Kong Women League and for Brisbane Roar in the Australian W-League. She also represents Hong Kong internationally in football and in futsal.

The Philippines has competed in ten editions of the AFC Women's Asian Cup, the top tournament for women's national teams organized by members of the Asian Football Confederation. The Philippine first competed in 1981, when the tournament was still known as the "AFC Women's Championship". The national team competed again in 1983 before skipping the next three editions.

The 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup was the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament was hosted at Bangkok, Thailand in the Impact Arena from 8 to 15 May 2022. This marks the third time Thailand has hosted the Thomas Cup, and second time for the Uber Cup.
