The 1969 TVW Channel 7 Le Mans 6 Hour Race [1] was an endurance race for Open and Closed Sports Cars, Improved Production Touring Cars and Series Production Touring Cars. [2] The event was staged on 2 June 1969 at the Wanneroo Park circuit in Western Australia. [3] It was the 14th Le Mans 6 Hour Race to be held in Western Australia and the first to be held at Wanneroo Park. [4]

It was the 17th “Six Hour Le Mans” race to be held in Western Australia and the third to be staged at Wanneroo Park. The race was won by Ray Thackwell and Jim Mullins driving a Porsche 911S.

The McLaren LT170 was a sports prototype racing car, built in 1971. The LT170 was a hybrid of the Lola T70 and McLaren M6B Can-Am cars, and used a Chevrolet V8 engine. One car was built, which Howie Sangster used on the way to winning the 1972 Western Australia Sports Car Championship.
