The 1974 season of the Lion Shield was the fourth recorded season of top flight association football competition in Tonga. Kolofo'ou No.1 won the championship, their fourth successive title. [1]

The language is also spoken by the Iwe, Toka and Leya people, and perhaps by the Kafwe Twa, as well as many bilingual Zambians and Zimbabweans. In Zambia Tonga is taught in schools as first language in the whole of Southern Province, Lusaka and Central Provinces.

Ngele'ia FC is a Tongan football club located in Kolofou, Tonga. It played in the Lion Shield, the top level of football competition in Tonga, from at least 1971 until 2009, winning four outright titles and one shared title in the seventies and eighties. The 2016 season of the Tonga Major League was the 37th season of top flight association football competition in Tonga. Veitongo FC won the championship for the fourth time, and the second time in a row. Details on the season are minimal, but it appears that the competition with decided with a final round in which Veitongo defeated Marist 8–2.

The 2022 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles season was the 73rd in the clubs history since their entry to the New South Wales Rugby League premiership in 1947. Des Hasler coached the club for the fourth consecutive year and twelfth overall. Daly Cherry-Evans captained the club for the sixth consecutive year. Pointsbet became the new major sponsor for the club taking over URM who moved onto a premier partner role. The season was notable for an incident when seven players boycotted the round 20 match against the Sydney Roosters due to their refusal to wear the club's "pride" jersey.
