The men's team is the most successful Swedish ice hockey team of all time, as 16-time Swedish champions, 12-time runners-up, 26-time finalists, and leaders of the marathon table for the top flight of Swedish hockey. The ice hockey section was first established in 1922 and has since been playing in the Swedish league system, with the exception of four years in the 1930s when the hockey section was temporarily dissolved.

    Rutger Backe is a Swedish former football player and coach. He started his career in local club IF Böljan. He joined Allsvenskan club Halmstads BK in 1972, with whom he played until 1981. Backe played 207 matches in the top league, scoring 77 goals. He was the Allsvenskan top scorer with 21 goals, when the club won its first ever Swedish national championship in 1976. Backe played 8 matches with the Swedish national team, scoring two goals. He trained Varbergs BoIS and Falkenbergs FF in the 1990s.

    The 2010 Allsvenskan, part of the 2010 Swedish football season, was the 86th Allsvenskan season. It began on 13 March 2010 and ended on 7 November 2010. AIK were the defending champions. Malmö FF secured their 16th title in the last round after winning with 2–0 against Mjällby.
