The 1979 Hockey Junior World Cup was the first edition of the Hockey Junior World Cup organized by FIH for national teams of players under the age of 21. The tournament was hosted in Versailles, France from 23 August to 2 September 1979. Pakistan won the inaugural tournament defeating West Germany 2–0 in the final.

Background

The International Hockey Federation was looking to expand the global exposure of the game through introducing new competitions under its own organization. The Junior Hockey World Cup was introduced six months after the introduction of the Hockey Champions Trophy. France hosted the first tournament and the trophy was called the Roger Danet Challenge Cup named after the President of FIH Roger Alain Danet. [1]

Mens FIH Hockey World Cup

The Men's FIH Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1971. It is held every four years, bridging the four years between the Summer Olympics. Pakistan is the most successful team, having won the tournament four times. The Netherlands and Australia have each won three titles, and Germany has won two titles. Belgium and India have both won the tournament once.

Pakistan mens national field hockey team

The Pakistan national field hockey team represents Pakistan in international field hockey since its first match in 1948. It is administered by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the governing body for hockey in Pakistan. They have been a member of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) since 1948 and founding member of the Asian Hockey Federation (ASHF) which formed in 1958.

2011 Mens Hockey Champions Trophy

The 2011 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy, officially known as the Owen G Glenn FIH Men's Champions Trophy, was the 33rd edition of the Champions Trophy men's field hockey tournament. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) confirmed India as the host country, and announced New Delhi as the host city on February 4, 2011. The tournament dates were December 3 to December 11, 2011. However, on September 6, 2011, the FIH announced that India would no longer host the tournament due to a governance issue, and announced Auckland, New Zealand as the new host on September 13, 2011 with the same time schedule. The tournament was held at North Harbour Hockey Stadium.

The 1994 Men's Hockey World Cup was the eighth edition of the Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the FIH. It was held from 23 November to 4 December 1994 in Sydney, Australia. Pakistan defeated the Netherlands 4–3 on penalties to lift the trophy.

The 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the inaugural season of the men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in August 2012 in Prague, Czech Republic and finished in January 2014 in New Delhi, India.

2014 Mens Hockey Champions Trophy

The 2014 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 35th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy men's field hockey tournament. It was held between 6–14 December 2014 in Bhubaneswar, India. From this year on the tournament began to be held biennially due to the introduction of the Hockey World League, returning to its original format changed in 1980.

2018 Mens Hockey World Cup

The 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup was the 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the FIH. It was held from 28 November to 16 December 2018, at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India. The inauguration ceremony which was held on 27 November 2018, witnessed the biggest ever drone flying show in India.

The 2016–17 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the third edition of the men's field hockey national team league series and last season of the World League. The tournament started in April 2016 in Singapore and finished in December 2017 in Bhubaneswar, India.

2018 Mens Hockey Champions Trophy

The 2018 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 37th and the last edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. It was held from 23 June to 1 July 2018 in Breda, Netherlands. The tournament will be replaced by the Hockey Pro League (HPL) in 2019.

The 2016 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup was the 11th edition of the Hockey Junior World Cup for men, an international field hockey tournament. It was held in Lucknow, India from 8–18 December 2016. A total of sixteen teams competed for the title.

The 2021 Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup is the 12th edition of the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, the biennial men's under-21 field hockey world championship organized by the International Hockey Federation. It is held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India from 24 November to 5 December 2021.
