Thor is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. After reigniting a dormant war, Thor is banished from Asgard to Earth, stripped of his powers and his hammer Mjölnir. As his brother Loki (Hiddleston) plots to take the Asgardian throne, Thor must prove himself worthy.

2021 United States Capitol attack Event in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election

On January 6, 2021, a mob of 2,000 to 2,500 supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump attacked the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. They sought to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election by disrupting the joint session of Congress assembled to count electoral votes that would formalize President-elect Joe Biden's victory. The Capitol Complex was locked down and lawmakers and staff were evacuated as rioters assaulted law enforcement officers, vandalized property, and occupied the building for several hours. Five people died either shortly before, during, or following the event: one was shot by Capitol Police, another died of a drug overdose, and three died of natural causes. Many people were injured, including 138 police officers. Four officers who responded to the attack died by suicide within seven months.

The United States Football League (USFL) is a planned professional American football league scheduled to start on April 16th 2022. It was first announced June 2021 that the league will have the same name as a defunct league which was founded in 1982 and played three seasons from 1983 through 1985.

2022 Kazakh protests Ongoing protests and unrest in Kazakhstan against the government

The 2022 Kazakh protests began on 2 January after a sudden sharp increase in liquefied gas prices which, according to the Kazakh government, was due to high demand and price fixing. The protests began in the oil-producing city of Zhanaozen, but then quickly spread to other cities in the country, especially the nation's largest city Almaty, due to rising dissatisfaction with the government and economic inequality.
