The National Football Conference – Eastern Division or NFC East is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Commanders.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles are a college football program at Eastern Michigan University. They compete in Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and the Mid-American Conference. Past names include "Michigan State Normal College Normalites", "Michigan State Normal College Hurons", and "Eastern Michigan Hurons".

The Eastern Michigan Eagles, formerly known as the Normalites and the Hurons, are the athletic teams for Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, United States. The Eagles compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as members of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The only exception is the women's rowing program, which is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. Altogether, the Eagles have won three NCAA Division II national championships and 13 NAIA Division I national championships in five different sports ; moreover, EMU has been NCAA Division I national runner-up twice. In 1940, the men's cross country team finished second to Indiana University at the national meet hosted by Michigan State University.
The Buffalo Bulls football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University at Buffalo located in the U.S. state of New York. The team competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Football Bowl Subdivision and is a member of the Mid-American Conference. Buffalo's first football team was fielded in 1894. The team plays its home games at the 25,000+ seat UB Stadium on University at Buffalo's north campus in Amherst, New York. The Bulls are coached by Pete Lembo.

The 1987 Michigan State Spartans football team represented Michigan State University as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 1987 NCAA Division I-A football season. Led by fifth-year head coach George Perles, the Spartans compiled an overall record of 9–2–1 with a mark 7–0–1 in conference play, winning the Big Ten title. Michigan State beat USC to win the 1988 Rose Bowl and finished the season ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll. The first game of the season, also against USC, was the first night game ever at Spartan Stadium.
Charles Gordon is a former American/Canadian Football League player who attended Eastern Michigan University from 1986–1989 earning All-Mid American Conference (MAC) honors for three consecutive years including: 1986 Runner-Up for MAC Freshman of the Year and 1986 Sporting News Freshman All America Head of the Class ; 1987 - 1st Team All Mid-American Conference (MAC) 1987- 3rd Team Football News Sophomore All America 1987 AP All America. Helped lead Eastern Michigan University to its first and only MAC championship 10–2 overall record and 7–1 conference record. Went to the 1987 California Bowl and upset 17+1⁄2 point favorite San Jose State University for the only bowl game win in EMU history. School records include: 4th all time Interceptions (12), 10th all time Interception return yards, 2nd Longest Interception return in stadium history, 10th all time Punt Return yardage, 3rd longest Punt Return touchdown in Eastern Michigan University school history (91yds).
The 2007 Eastern Michigan Eagles football team represented Eastern Michigan University during the 2007 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Eastern Michigan competed as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Division. The team was coached by Jeff Genyk and played their homes game in Rynearson Stadium. The Eagles finished the season 4–8, tied with the 2004 and 2005 seasons for the most wins in Genyk's career.
Elson James Harkema is former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan from 1973 to 1982 and at Eastern Michigan University from 1983 to 1992, compiling a career college football record of 109–86–6. Harkema played college football as a quarterback at Kalamazoo College.

The Eagles played their home games at Rynearson Stadium and are members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. Coming off of a 1–11 season in 2015, the Eagles performed a remarkable turnaround and finished 7–6, 4–4 in MAC play to finish in fourth place in the West Division. They were invited to the 2016 Bahamas Bowl, just their second bowl game in school history. They also improved their home attendance by over 260% compared to 2015.
The 1974 Eastern Michigan Hurons football team represented Eastern Michigan University as an independent during the 1974 NCAA Division II football season. In their first season under head coach George Mans, the Hurons compiled a 4–6–1 record and were outscored by their opponents, 178 to 143.
The 1970 Eastern Michigan Hurons football team represented Eastern Michigan University as an independent during the 1970 NCAA College Division football season. In their fourth season under head coach Dan Boisture, the Hurons compiled a 7–2–1 record and outscored their opponents, 237 to 109. On November 14, 1970, the Hurons won the final game of their season, 60–0, over Ball State, as running back Larry Ratcliff scored four touchdowns and rushed for 212 yards in his final college game.

The 1987 San Jose State Spartans football team represented San Jose State University during the 1987 NCAA Division I-A football season as a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. The team was led by head coach Claude Gilbert, in his fourth year as head coach at San Jose State. They played home games at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, California. The Spartans finished the 1987 season as champions of the PCAA for the second consecutive season, with a record of ten wins and two losses.
Arthur Lewis Nichols III is an American football running back for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Central Michigan. During the 2021 regular season, he led the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision with 1,710 rushing yards.
The 2022 Eastern Michigan Eagles football team represented Eastern Michigan University during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Eagles were led by ninth-year head coach Chris Creighton and played their home games at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. They competed as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). By finishing the regular season at 8–4, the Eagles reached eight wins for the first time since winning a school-record ten games in 1987.
