Elections to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly were held in February 1990 to elect members of the 200 constituencies in Rajasthan, India. [1] The Indian National Congress won the popular vote, but the Bharatiya Janata Party won the most seats and its leader Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was appointed as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for his second term. [2] [3] The number of constituencies was set as 200 by the recommendation of the Delimitation Commission of India. [4]

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was an Indian politician who served as the 11th vice president of India. He served in that position from August 2002, when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant, until he resigned on 21 July 2007, after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times, from 1977 to 1980, 1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998. Pushpendra Singh is an Indian politician who was a Minister in the BJP led Rajasthan Government. He is a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elected from Bali in Pali district in Rajasthan state. He has won all of the assembly elections in this district since 2002, winning his sixth term in 2023. He has been elected on the ticket of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Ganganagar, also called Sri Ganganagar, Vidhan Sabha seat is one of the constituencies of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, in India. It is a segment of Ganganagar.

Kalu Lal Gurjar is a Bharatiya Janata Party leader and currently the President Of Rajasthan Gujar Mahasabha. He served as the Government Chief Whip in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 2013 to 2018. He also served as the cabinet minister in Government of Rajasthan led by Vasundhara Raje and also served as Mines minister in Government of Rajasthan led by Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. He represents Mandal constituency of Bhilwara district in the assembly and has been elected as Member of the Legislative Assembly for four times. Gujar is also the Chairman of Devnarayan Charitable Trust.

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat became Chief Minister of Rajasthan, India for second time in 1990 as leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal alliance. In 1990 election to Rajasthan Legislative Assembly out of total 200 seats Bharatiya Janata Party won 85 and Janata Dal won 50 seats. Shekhawat was sworn in as chief minister on 4 March 1990. The 2002 Indian vice presidential election was held on 12 August 2002 to elect the newly vacated post of the vice president of India. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat defeated Sushil Kumar Shinde to become 11th vice president of India. Incumbent VP Krishan Kant did not contest the election and died before the election occurred. Sekhawat got nearly 60% of votes, which was lowest among any winning candidates.
