Members of the Lok Sabha (House of the People) or the lower house of Parliament of India are elected by being voted upon by all adult citizens of India, from a set of candidates who stand in their respective constituencies. Every adult citizen of India can vote only in their constituency. Candidates who win the Lok Sabha elections are called 'Member of Parliament' and hold their seats for five years or until the body is removed

Politics of India works within the framework of the country's Constitution. India is a parliamentary secular democratic republic in which the president of India is the head of state & first citizen of India and the Prime Minister of India is the head of government. It is based on the federal structure of government, although the word is not used in the Constitution itself. Purno Agitok Sangma was an Indian politician who has served as the 4th Chief Minister of Meghalaya from 1988 to 1990 and the 11th Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 1996 to 1998. Vadodara is one of the 26 Lok Sabha constituencies in Gujarat, a state in Western India. This constituency covers 7 out of 10 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Vadodara district and first held elections in 1957 as Baroda Lok Sabha constituency in erstwhile Bombay State. It has been known as Vadodara since the 2009 elections. Its first member of parliament (MP) was Fatehsinghrao Gaekwad of the Indian National Congress (INC) who was also re-elected in the next elections in 1962. He was the Maharaja of Baroda of the Gaekwad dynasty at the time. P. C. Patel of the Swatantra Party won the election in 1967. From 1971–80, Gaekwad was MP of this constituency again firstly as a member of the Indian National Congress (Organisation) and then as a member of the INC. His younger brother, Ranjitsinh Pratapsinh Gaekwad also of the INC represented the constituency from 1980–89 for two terms before being defeated by Prakash Brahmbhatt of the Janata Dal party in the 1989 election.
Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the South Indian state of Karnataka. This constituency has been known by different names in its history. For the 1951 and every election since 1977 it has been known as Bangalore North. For the 1957 and 1962 elections it was known as Bangalore City. For the 1967 and 1971 elections it formed a constituency jointly with Bangalore South and was known as Bangalore. From 1951–73, this constituency resided in Mysore State. On 1 November 1973, Mysuru State was renamed as Karnataka.

It first held elections in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Shivajirao Adhalarao Patil of Shiv Sena. As of the 2019 elections, its MP is Dr. Amol Kolhe who is serving in his second term from this constituency.

This constituency was created on 19 February 2008 as a part of the implementation of the Presidential notification based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted 12 July 2002. The first held elections were in 2009 and its first member of parliament (MP) was Harischandra Devram Chavan of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bhaskar Bhagare of the NCP(SP) is elected as Member of Parliament in 2024. Now he represents Dindori Loksabha Constituency by defeating BJP Candidate Bharati Pawar.

Coorg was a constituency of the Lok Sabha. It was used in the parliamentary election of 1951–1952. The constituency elected a single member of the Lok Sabha and was the sole Lok Sabha seat for the Coorg State. As of 1952, the constituency had 94,593 eligible voters.
