Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda is an Indian politician who served as the prime minister of India from 1996 to 1997. He previously served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996 and as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. A member of the Janata Dal (Secular), he has been serving as the party's president since 1999 and has been Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Karnataka since 2020.

He is the chairperson of Maha Vikas Aghadi, a regional Maharashtra-based political alliance.

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was an Indian politician who served as the 11th vice president of India. He served in that position from August 2002, when he was elected to a five-year term by the electoral college following the death of Krishan Kant, until he resigned on 21 July 2007, after losing the presidential election to Pratibha Patil. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times, from 1977 to 1980, 1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998. He represented several constituencies in Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha from 1952 to 2002. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 2003.

Maurya again contested the legislative assembly elections in 2022 from Sirathu Assembly constituency, losing to Pallavi Patel of Samajwadi Party. However, he was given a second term as Deputy CM in the second Yogi Adityanath government.

The Bill was Introduced in Indian Parliament's Lower house, Lok Sabha on 17th December 2024.
Jagdeep Dhankhar is an Indian politician and lawyer serving as the 14th and current vice president of India since 2022. He previously served as the Governor of West Bengal from 2019 to 2022. He also served as a Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs in the Chandra Shekhar ministry from 1990 to 1991, and served as a member of Lok Sabha from 1989 to 1991. Between 1993 and 1998, he was a Member of Rajasthan's Legislative Assembly. He has been affiliated with multiple political parties in India, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress and Janata Dal.
