The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is a right-wing conservative Indian political alliance led by the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded in 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 17 Indian states and one Union territory.

In addition to the major national parties, other national and regional parties such as Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal Secular, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Kerala Congress, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Indian Union Muslim League, AIMIM, and the Nationalist Congress Party are all dominated by families, mostly those of the party founders.

VVPAT-fitted EVMs was used in entire Goa state in the 2017 elections, which was the first time that an entire state in India saw the implementation of VVPAT.

Third Manohar Parrikar Ministry is the Council of Ministers in Goa Legislative Assembly headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. Deepak Chandrakant Prabhu Pauskar is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Goa Legislative Assembly from Sanvordem in the 2017 Goa Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. He was named Minister of Public Works and Museum in Pramod Sawant cabinet. Ajgaonkar and Pauskar joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in March 2019 thus minimizing Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party to one seat in the Goa Legislative Assembly.

Legislative Assembly elections were held in Goa on 14 February 2022 to elect 40 members of the Eighth Goa Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results were declared on 10 March 2022.

Venzy Viegas is an Indian politician who currently serves as a member of the Goa Legislative Assembly, representing the Benaulim Assembly constituency. He is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party. He was elected as the MLA from Benaulim in the 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election. He was appointed as the legislative party leader of AAP in Goa Assembly in March 2022.

Yuri Lenon Elias Alemao is an Indian politician and businessman. He is the current member of the Goa Legislative Assembly from the Cuncolim Assembly constituency. Alemao won the Cuncolim Constituency on Indian National Congress in 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election. He defeated former MLA Clafasio Dias of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 6,632 votes. On 20 September 2022, he was appointed the Congress Legislature party leader in Goa Assembly.
