Sudin alias Ramkrishna Madhav Dhavalikar is an Indian politician from the state of Goa,and a senior leader of the MG Party. He is a six-term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly,representing the Marcaim constituency [3] and former deputy CM of Goa. [4]
He has been a Minister in various governments for over 15 years,holding important portfolios by forming alliances with various political parties.

On 27 March 2019,he was dropped from the Cabinet of Ministers as the Deputy Chief Minister,as well as the ruling alliance,after two MGP MLAs (Deepak Pauskar and Manohar Ajgaonkar) broke away from the party and joined the ruling BJP,merging the MGP legislative party into the BJP. [6] [4] A disqualification plea of the two breakaway MGP MLAs,along with 10 other congress MLAs was dismissed by the High Court of Bombay at Goa. [7]
He is a senior leader of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party,Goa's first ruling party after the end of Portuguese colonial rule in 1961. [5] He has played a pivotal role in survival and success of the party for last 20 years.
In 2015,two members of Aam Aadmi Party –Pradip Ghadi Amonkar and Mujahid Rizvi –alleged that Dhavalikar,while contesting the previous Assembly election,had sworn a false affidavit that he is a BSc graduate. They claimed that Sudin Dhavalikar had lied in his sworn affidavit regarding his educational qualification. [8] [9] [10] The aggrieved approached the court as they claimed that Ponda police had declined to register an FIR against Dhavalikar. After inquiring with the Bombay University,Ponda police submitted in the court that Dhavalikar's BSc degree is genuine. The Ponda court promptly dismissed the case noting that JMFC Apurva Nagvekar did not find any merit in the application made by the aggrieved party. [11]
Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party is a political party in India. It was Goa's first ruling party after the end of Portuguese rule in Goa in 1961. In the first elections held after the Annexation of Goa by India,it ascended to power in December 1963 and stayed in power till being ousted from power by defections in early 1979.
Although India is a parliamentary democracy,the country's politics has become dynastic or with high level of nepotism,possibly due to the absence of party organizations,independent civil-society associations which mobilize support for a party,or centralized financing of elections. The dynastic phenomenon is present at the national,state,regional,and district level. Starting April 2015,the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh underwent a political crisis. The Indian National Congress Chief Minister Nabam Tuki replaced Jarbom Gamlin as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on 1 November 2011 and continued till January 2016. After a political crisis in 2016,the President's rule was imposed ending his tenure as the chief minister. In February 2016,Kalikho Pul became the Chief Minister when 14 disqualified MLAs were reinstated by the Supreme Court. On 13 July 2016,the Supreme Court quashed the Arunachal Pradesh Governor J.P. Rajkhowa’s order to advance the Assembly session from 14 January 2016 to 16 December 2015,which resulted in President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh. As a result,Tuki was restored as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on 13 July 2016. But hours before proving majority,he resigned as the Chief Minister on 16 July 2016. He was succeeded by Pema Khandu as the INC Chief Minister but later joined PPA in September 2016 along with majority MLAs. He further joined BJP in December 2016 along with majority MLAs.
Goa Forward Party is a regional political party in the western coastal Indian state of Goa,led by Vijai Sardesai. The GFP fielded four candidates in the 2017 Goa Assembly election and won three seats. It played a crucial,if controversial,role in the return of the Bharatiya Janata Party to power in the March 2017 election results in Goa. The party's motto is "Goem,Goemkar,Goemkarponn". The party was launched on 25 January 2016 and its symbol is the coconut.

Harpal Singh Cheema is an Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Dirba Assembly constituency located in Sangrur District,Punjab. In March 2022,he became first dalit to be a finance minister of Punjab. He joined the Aam Aadmi Party just before the 2017 Punjab Legislative Assembly election. He contested and won the election from Dirba Assembly constituency against a popular Punjabi Kabbadi player Gulzar Singh Moonak from Shiromani Akali Dal and Ajaib Singh Ratolan from Indian National Congress.
