Elections in Rajasthan have been held since 1952 to elect members of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and of Lok Sabha. There are 200 assembly constituencies and 25 Lok sabha constituencies. In 2018, Legislative assembly election in Rajasthan were held on 7 December 2018. [1]
The Indian National Congress (INC) , Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rastriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) are the three most dominant parties in the state. In the past, various parties such as Janata Party (JP), Janata Dal (JD), Swatantra Party, CPIM, Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) and Ram Rajya Parishad (RRP) have also been influential.

Vasundhara Raje Scindia is an Indian politician, who has held two terms as the chief minister of Rajasthan. She was previously a minister in the Union Cabinet of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and was India's first Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries, now known as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. In 2003, she became the first woman to serve as the Chief Minister for the state of Rajasthan. She is currently one of the national vice presidents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A member of the Scindia family, she is also the matriarch of the Bamraulia family of Dholpur.
Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) is a political party based primarily in the Indian state of Haryana. It was initially founded as the Haryana Lok Dal (Rashtriya) by Devi Lal in 1996, who served as the Deputy Prime Minister of India.
