Subdivisions

The Indian state of Rajasthan is divided into 41 districts for administrative purposes. [1] The responsibilities of district management are carried out by All-India officials and state-appointed officials. The All-India officials in each district are a Deputy Commissioner or district Magistrate (from the Indian Administrative Service), a Superintendent of Police (from the Indian Police Service) and a Deputy Conservator of Forests (from the Indian Forest Service), each of which is assisted by officers of various Rajasthan state services. The state-appointed officials are responsible for matters such as health, education, and other primary facilities.

Rajasthan is a state in northwestern India. It covers 342,239 square kilometres (132,139 sq mi) or 10.4 per cent of India's total geographical area. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest by population. It is on India's northwestern side, where it comprises most of the wide and inhospitable Thar Desert and shares a border with the Pakistani provinces of Punjab to the northwest and Sindh to the west, along the Sutlej-Indus River valley. The Rajputana Agency was a political office of the British Indian Empire dealing with a collection of native states in Rajputana, under the political charge of an Agent reporting directly to the Governor-General of India and residing at Mount Abu in the Aravalli Range. The total area of the states falling within the Rajputana Agency was 127,541 square miles (330,330 km2), with eighteen states and two estates or chiefships.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">North Western Railway zone</span> Zones of Indian Railways

The North Western Railway is one of 19 railway zones in India. It is headquartered at Jaipur. It has a route length of more than 5,761 kilometres (3,580 mi) across the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. NWR operates international rail service Thar Express from Jodhpur to Karachi. This zone is the key enabler of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project by virtue of running railways 1,500 km long Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.

Gangapur is a city and a municipal council located in Gangapur City District in the eastern part of Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated 140 km east of Rajasthan's capital Jaipur, 76 km from Sawai Madhopur, 33 km from Karauli, 160 km from Agra of Uttar Pradesh. It is famous for its Sweet Cuisine Kheermohan and newly built Kushalgarh Baba Shyam Temple. The Municipal Council consists of 60 wards.

Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) is a public transport company which provides bus services in the Indian state Rajasthan. It is headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The corporation was established by Government of Rajasthan on 1 October 1964 under the Road Transport Act 1950. RSRTC operates ordinary, express and deluxe services.

Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), formerly Kota Open University, is an open university in Kota, Rajasthan, India, established in 1987. VMOU offers courses particularly in the humanities, commerce, library science and informatics. It is geographically distributed throughout Rajasthan, with regional centres in Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur and Bharatpur, and several tens of study centres in other cities, in addition to a special centre at New Delhi. Ratan Lal Godara was appointed vice chancellor of VMOU in 2019.

The 12963/12964 Mewar Express is a Superfast Express running from Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi to Udaipur City. It traverses the 743 kilometres (462 mi) journey in 12 hours 49 minutes, with 16 halts in between. The erstwhile kingdom in southern Rajasthan encompassing Udaipur was called Mewar.

Rajasthan attracts tourists for its historical forts, palaces, art and culture with its slogan "Padharo Mhare Desh ". The capital city, Jaipur, also known as Pink City, is a very popular tourist destination place and it is a part of the Golden Triangle. The Walled City of Jaipur is only the second Indian city to be recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, after Ahmedabad.

The 20473 / 20474 Chetak Express is a Superfast Express express train belonging to Indian Railways – North Western Railway zone that runs between Udaipur City and Delhi Sarai Rohilla in India.

Phulera Junction railway station is a main railway station in Jaipur district, Rajasthan. Its code is FL. It serves Phulera town. The station consists of 5 platforms. The station lies on Jaipur–Ahmedabad main line which connects Jaipur to Ajmer and Ahmedabad as well as Merta Road–Rewari line which connects Jodhpur to Jaipur and Delhi. 111 trains pass through the station and 5 of the originates form the station. It also houses the YDM-4 Locomotives that serve the Mavli-Marwar Metre Gauge Line

The first case of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Indian state of Rajasthan was reported on 2 March 2020 in Jaipur. The Rajasthan Health Department has confirmed a total of 29,835 cases, including 563 deaths and 21866 recoveries as of 20 July 2020. All districts in the state have reported confirmed cases of which, Jaipur is the worst-affected.
