Pilibanga (also spelt as Pilibangan) is a town and a municipality in Hanumangarh district in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Pilibanga is located at 29°27′N74°05′E / 29.45°N 74.08°E / 29.45; 74.08 . [2] It has an average elevation of 173 m (568 ft).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, [3] Pilibanga had a population of 33,607. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Pilibanga has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 48%. In Pilibanga, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Nation Highway 15 passes through Pilibangan. Pilibangan has daily train services to Delhi via Bhatinda, Ahmedabad via Jodhpur and Jaipur via Bikaner.

The Shri Ganganagar–Sadulpur line or Sri Ganganagar–Hanumangarh–Sadulpur line is a railway route on the North Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. This route plays an important role in rail transportation of Bikaner division of Rajasthan state and some portion of Sirsa district of Haryana.
