Balotra district is a district of Rajasthan state of India. [1] This district came into existence on 7 August 2023 by separating from Barmer district. [2]

Balotra's district headquarters is Balotra town. [2] Balotra district is bordered by Jaisalmer district in the north, Jodhpur Rural district in the east, Pali, Jalore district in the south and Barmer, Sanchore district in the west. The area of Balotra district is 10,551 sq km. The total population of Balotra district is 9,70,760. [3]

Being in the western part of the state, it includes a part of the Thar Desert. Jaisalmer is to the north of this district while Jalore is in its south. The temperature in summer can rise up to 51 °C and falls near to 0 °C in winter. Luni is the longest river in Barmer district. After travelling a length of almost 500 km, it passes through Jalore and merges in the marshy land of Runn of Kutch. District headquarters is in the town of Barmer. The other major towns in the district are: Balotra, Guda Malani, Baytoo, Siwana, and Chohatan. Recently, a large onshore oil field has been discovered and made functional in Barmer district. Barmer is also famous for pomegrante.

Tilwara has a total population of 1,487 peoples according to Census 2011.

National Highway 25 is a National Highway in India that connects Barmer and Beawar in the state of Rajasthan. It has recently been widened to four lanes by the National Highways Authority of India.

Umarlai Khalsa is a village in Barmer District of Rajasthan state in India. It is about 100 km from Jodhpur. The town is famous for farming, Mata Nagnechiyaa Temple and Akhada, The town is well connected with Jodhpur by buses at frequent intervals. From Umarlai Khalsa towards Jalore there is India's Third Brahma Temple in the village of Asotra. From Umarlai Khalsa towards Barmer there is Ancient Temple of Lord Shri Vishnu named as Shri Ranchore Ray, Khed Mandir in the village of Khed The name Umarlai Khalsa derived from all the religious people of this village. Barmer Refinery is an upcoming public sector refinery and petrochemical complex in the Pachpadra of Rajasthan, India. It is owned by HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL), a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and the Government of Rajasthan. This refinery will be connected with Jamnagar Refinery and Bathinda Refinery through Amritsar Jamnagar Expressway.

Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway (NH-754A) is an under-construction 1,257 km long, 6-lane wide expressway in the north-western part of India. The expressway will reduce the distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar from earlier 1,430 km to 1,316 km and the time travel from 26 hours to only 13 hours. It is a part of the Bharatmala and Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor (EC-3). It will pass through four states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Madan Prajapat is an Indian politician from Rajasthan who has served in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly since 2018. He previously served in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 2008 to 2013. Prajapat represents Pachpadra as a member of the Indian National Congress.

Gira is a tehsil in Balotra District of Rajasthan State, India. It belongs to Jodhpur Division. Gira has a total population of 803 peoples according to Census 2011.
