Sheo or Shiv [1] is a village in Barmer district of Rajasthan state of India. It is a tehsil headquarters. It is also spelled as Shiv, although Sheo is the preferred way of writing the name. The village is located in the Thar desert.

Rajput, Mali, Raj purohit and Muslim dominated This village has an important contribution in the politics of Rajasthan, province of India. Jaswant Singh Jasol, father of the politician of the Sheo region, Manvendra Singh, has made an important contribution to the politics of India. The current Sheo MLA is Mr. Ravindra Singh Bhati and first independent win in his constituency's history. He started his political journey from Student politics and became president of Jai Narain Vyas University Student Union. It is famous for its variety of cuisines, culture and ethnicity.

Jalam Singh Rawlot is an Indian politician who is a former MLA of Sheo. He is a former district president of Bharatiya Janata Party Barmer. He is a national level leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was born in Satto village of Jaisalmer district. He was the student union president of Jai Narayan vyas University, Jodhpur in 1989.
