Bhagat Bhikhan (1480-1573), a medieval Indian saint two of whose hymns are included in the Guru Granth Sahib. जन्म 3 मई 1957 को महाराष्ट्र(मराठवाड़ा) स्थित लातूर जिले के एक छोटे से गांव में साधारण किसान परिवार में हुआ। पिता का नाम श्री उस्मान अली पटेल है। किसान परिवार में जन्म लेने के कारण बचपन से ही एक मेहनती, श्रमजीवी एवम समाजसेवी बालक थे। किसान परिवार में जन्म और पालन-पोषण होने के कारण पटेल जी किसानों की हर छोटी-बड़ी समस्याओं से भली-भांति परिचित हुए। लातूर महाराष्ट्र का एक प्रमुख जिला है, जहां पर किसानों की समस्याएं पूरे समाज को प्रभावित करती हैं। इस इलाके में पानी की भारी कमी है, जिससे किसानी करना और जीवन-यापन बेहद दुष्कर है। 90 के दशक में आये भयंकर भूकम्प ने भी इस इलाके को बड़ी पीछे धकेल दिया था। पठार का इलाका होने के कारण इस इलाके में खेती योग्य भूमि भी कम है और सिंचाई के साधन भी नगण्य हैं। बचपन से ही किसानों का संघर्ष देखकर पाशा पटेल के मन पर गहरा प्रभाव हुआ और वे निरंतर किसानों की भलाई के लिए सोचा करते। इसी सोच ने राजनीति की दिशा में कार्य करने को भी प्रेरित किया। राष्ट्रवाद और स्वदेशी की भावना से प्रेरित, पाशा पटेल ने शुरू में ही अपने राजनीतिक सफर के लिए भारतीय जनता पार्टी को चुना और वे लगातार इसी विचारधारा के साथ किसान और शेतकरी के हित में संघर्ष कर रहे हैं। पाशा पटेल के जीवन और व्यक्तित्व पर शेतकरी आंदोलन के नायक शरद जोशी की कार्यशैली का भी पूरा प्रभाव है। शरद जोशी को पाशा पटेल अपना आदर्श मानते हैं।
