1995 was a French rap band founded in 2008 in the southern part of Paris as P.O.S. The name was changed to "1995" in 2010 in reference to the year 1995, considered a "golden year" for French rap. The six-member group is composed of 5 rappers and one producer all coming from the 14th and 15th arrondissements in Paris. 1995 are influenced by the spontaneous and positive vibes from the 1990 French rap.
The band name is pronounced in various formats like "Mille neuf cent quatre vingt quinze" or "Dix neuf quatre vingt quinze" or "un, neuf, neuf, cinq" ( [ɛ̃nœfnœfsɛ̃k] ) or "un, double neuf, cinq" ( [ɛ̃dublənœfsɛ̃k] ). Despite offers for signing, the band has remained strongly independent [1] through their own "Undoubleneufcinq" label (meaning onedoubleninefive).

The first five are rappers, whereas Lo' is a beatmaker and DJ. The rap group was established by Alpha Wann and Areno Jaz. Later on, it was expanded to include Nekfeu and Sneazzy (who went to the same school as Alpha Wann). Fonky Flav' was met through some Myspace postings and became the producer of 1995's materials.
After starting at rap competitions and open mic events in their various Paris and provincial venues, they realized the impact of the rap scene. They followed the establishment of various other rap collectives, founders Alpha Wann and Areno Jaz decided to expand P.O.S (literally Porteur Officiel de Sac-à-dos / or Petite Organisation Scred) into a bigger formation paying tribute to the 1990s.
The band released "Dans ta réssoi" that garnered quickly more than 5 [3] million views on YouTube followed by "Hi Haters". They became a constant presence in different battles including the famous Rap Contenders.
Their first EP containing 8 self-produced titles entitled La Source was released in France in June 2011. It reached #23 in the SNEP French official charts., [4] and #7 in downloads in its first week of release. Their Facebook attracted 130,000 followers. [5] and their YouTube accumulated 12 million views. [6]
Various members also release their own materials and projects like En Sous Marin EP by members Nekfeu and Alpha Wann, a net-EP by Sneazzy, or a mini-LP solo by Areno Jaz titled Alias Darryl Zeuja.
In March 2012, their second EP was released under the title La suite distributed by Universal Music Group in agreement with the band's label. The band embarked on a tour and series of appearances in music festivals to promote the album. [7]
Paris Sud Minute the first album of the collective was released beginning of 2013. It was chosen as "Best Urban Music Album" during the Victoires de la musique the same year.

Psy 4 de la Rime are a French hip hop band formed 1995 in Marseille comprising several rappers with immigrant backgrounds from former French colonies. Their original name was KDB, Kid Dog Black. The band was signed to 361 Records, a Marseille-based independent label founded by fellow rapper Akhenaton. The group had three albums, the debut Block Party (2002), Enfants de la lune (2005) and Les cités d'or (2008). After split, members particularly Soprano and Alonzo went on to have very successful solo careers with their own albums and single hits. The formation got together in 2013 to release a fourth album called 4eme Dimension that made to number 3 on the French Albums Chart.

The group comprises rappers Bernardo "Bernz" Garcia and Ben "Wrekonize" Miller, along with producer and percussionist Andrews "NonMS" Mujica. Alpha Omar Wann, also known as Phaal or Philly Phaal, is a French rapper and songwriter, and was the main member of the band 1995 that also included Nekfeu, Areno Jaz, Fonky Flav', Sneazzy and DJ Lo'. He was also member of the band L'entourage. He is the founder of Don Dada Records, and he signed to Universal Music.
L'entourage is a French hip hop crew composed of several bands and solo artists founded in 2008. The members emanated from the battle-rap contest Rap Contenders as well as support of many artists and bands.
Couleur Café Festival is an annual urban contemporary music festival taking place around the end of June or early July in Brussels, Belgium, organised since 1990. He started his career as a member of $-Crew, with childhood friends Framal, Mekra, 2zer Washington and DJ Elite. He joined 1995 in 2007, participating in open mic duels around Paris.
Mathieu Claude Daniel Pruski better known by the stage name PLK, is a French rapper of Polish descent. His father is Polish and immigrated to France with his grandfather during World War II. His mother is Corsican. Pruski grew up in 14th arrondissement of Paris. He started writing lyrics when he was nine and composing when he was 13. Being called "mini Polak", he adopted Polak (PLK) as his artistic name to emphasize his Polish roots. At 14, he was part of the formation La Confrérie alongside Ormaz and Zeu. He later became a member of the formation Panama Bende a band formed by seven young artists from Paris together releasing the EP Bende Mafia in 2016 and the album ADN in 2017.
Mohamed Amine Khemisa better known as Sneazzy or Sneazzy West or Sneaz is a French rapper and actor. Besides his own solo output, he is also a member of the French rap collective 1995.
Clément Enzo Florian di Fiore, better known by his stage name Népal, was a French record producer and rapper. He was also known as KLM and GrandMaster Splinter. A co-founding member of the collective 75e Session, he produced their EP 16par16 in 2014. He also formed with Doums the duo 2Fingz. He was also close to the collective L'Entourage, to the band 1995 and the project Les Gars Laxistes. Népal attached great importance to remain anonymous, covering his face with a hood, a mask, or even with make up.
Georges Édouard Nicolo better known by the stage name Georgio is a French rapper and singer of Guadeloupean descent and originating from 18e arrondissement of Paris. He has released four studio albums, Bleu noir (2015), Héra (2016), XX5 (2018) and Sacré (2021) and most recently Années Sauvages (2022). He also released 5 EPs and a number of singles.

Mamadou Coulibaly, commonly known by his stage name "Doums", is a French rapper, born in Bamako, Mali. He was part of a duo called "2Fingz" from 2011 with the late rapper Népal, which was active until Népal's death in 2019, and is a member of the collective L'Entourage.
