The 1996 HEW Cyclassics was the inaugural edition of the HEW Cyclassics cycle race and was held on 25 August 1996. The race started and finished in Hamburg. [2] The race was won by Rossano Brasi.

Romāns Vainšteins is a former professional road bicycle racer from Latvia. He won the road race at the 2000 World Cycling Championship in Plouay, France. At the end of the 268.8 km (167.0 mi) race, he won the sprint for the line ahead of Zbigniew Spruch and defending champion Óscar Freire.

These are the results for the 2005 edition of the HEW Cyclassics cycling classic, held in Hamburg, Germany. Filippo Pozzato ensured that the tradition that nobody has won this race twice was maintained.

The 2006 edition of the Vattenfall Cyclassics cycle race took place in the German city of Hamburg on July 30, 2006. The race was the continuation of the old HEW Cyclassics, which no rider has won twice.

Mirko Celestino is an Italian former professional road racing cyclist, specializing in the classic cycle races. His biggest career achievements to date include winning the monumental classic—Giro di Lombardia, the classic HEW Cyclassics and two-time winner of the semi-classic Milano–Torino. Since retiring from road racing, Celestino has been active in mountain bike racing, achieving a silver medal at the 2010 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships and a bronze medal at the 2011 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships.

Team Polti was an Italian professional cycling team. It became an independent team in 1994, after the separation of Lampre-Polti, and was active until 2000. Team Polti began in 1994 with Gianluigi Stanga as directeur sportif and Vittorio Algeri and Claudio Corti as managers. The team used Fausto Coppi bikes. Other directeur sportifs included Giosuè Zenoni, Antonio Bevilacqua and Giovanni Fidanza. Team Polti gave Richard Virenque a chance after he was ejected from the 1998 Tour de France and while maintaining his innocence, his former teammates at Festina admitted taking EPO. Virenque joined Team Polti for the 1999 and 2000 seasons where he won the Mountains classification at the 1999 and 2000 Tour de France. In July 2007, Former Team Polti rider Jörg Jaksche admitted use of performance-enhancing products and alleged that this began when he was competing with Team Polti in 1997. Jaksche alleged that directeur sportif Gianluigi Stanga introduced him to EPO during the Tour de Suisse in 1997. Stanga immediately denied the accusations. Throughout its seven-year history, the team rode Fausto Coppi branded bikes and Santini provided the team with their striking cycling kit.

Fabio Baldato is an Italian former racing cyclist. In 2008, he was the oldest rider in a ProTour team. His cycling career ended when he crashed heavily in the Eneco Tour. He also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 1996 Summer Olympics.

It was the 20th edition of the Vattenfall Cyclassics one-day cycling race, and was the twenty-third race of the 2015 UCI World Tour. The race started in Kiel and ended in Hamburg. The course was mainly flat; the race generally suits sprinters, such as the defending champion, Alexander Kristoff.

The 2016 EuroEyes Cyclassics are the 21st edition of the EuroEyes Cyclassics road bicycle race, the first edition under the new name. The one-day-race took place on 21 August 2016 and was won by Caleb Ewan in the sprint, after Nacer Bouhanni was relegated for irregular sprinting.

The 2001 HEW Cyclassics was the sixth edition of the HEW Cyclassics cycle race and was held on 19 August 2001. The race started and finished in Hamburg. The race was won by Erik Zabel.

The 2002 HEW Cyclassics was the seventh edition of the HEW Cyclassics cycle race and was held on 4 August 2002. The race started and finished in Hamburg. The race was won by Johan Museeuw.

The 2003 HEW Cyclassics was the eighth edition of the HEW Cyclassics cycle race and was held on 3 August 2003. The race started and finished in Hamburg. The race was won by Paolo Bettini.
