The 1996 Bradford Bulls season was the 90th in the club's history. Coached by Brian Smith and captained by Robbie Paul the newly branded Bradford Bulls competed in Super League I. The Bulls finished the regular season in 3rd place and made the semi-final, losing 36-42 to Wigan Warriors. The Bulls also competed in the 1996 Challenge Cup, reaching the final which they lost 32-40 to St. Helens.

Super League VII was the year 2002's Super League championship season, the 108th season of top-level professional rugby league in Britain, and the seventh run by the Super League. Twelve clubs from across England competed during the season, culminating in the 2002 Super League Grand Final between St. Helens and Bradford Bulls, which St Helens won, claiming their third premiership in four seasons.

Coached by Tony Anderson, Halifax competed in Super League VIII and finished in 12th place, relegating the club to National League One. The club also reached the fourth round of the Challenge Cup.

Des Clark is an Australian former rugby league footballer. A journeyman second-row or prop, he played for the North Sydney Bears, Balmain Tigers, Gold Coast Chargers, Halifax Blue Sox, St. Helens and North Queensland Cowboys during his seven-year career.

The 2003 London Broncos season was the twenty-fourth in the club's history and their eighth season in the Super League. The club was coached by Tony Rea, competing in Super League VIII and finishing in 5th place. The club also got to the fifth round of the Challenge Cup.
