Andre Agassi won in the final, 1–6, 2–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–4, against former world No. 4 Andriy Medvedev to capture the Men's Singles tennis title at the 1999 French Open. With this win, Agassi became the second man, after Rod Laver, to complete a career Grand Slam in the Open Era. He also achieved a career Super Slam, the only men's singles player to do so.
