The 19th Public Order Mykolaiv Regiment is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with law enforcement tasks and the defense of Ukrainian territorial integrity. In the wake of Russo-Ukrainian war, it has seen combat in Donbass as well as in Mykolaiv Oblast. It was established in 1992 as the 7th Separate Battalion on the basis of 130th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion. It is headquartered in the City of Mykolaiv.
The regiment was established on 18 January 1990 as the 130th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion of the Internal Troops of the Soviet Union being transferred to the National Guard of Ukraine on 2 January 1992 becoming the 7th Separate Battalion. On 17 February 1995, the battalion was subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and was renamed as the Separate Special Motorized Police Battalion and on 17 April 1995, the battalion was reorganized into the 19th Special Motorized Regiment of the Internal Troops of Ukraine, then becoming the 19th Public Order Protection Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine on 13 March 2014. During the Euromaidan, the regiment was deployed for security and maintenance of law and order in Kyiv where many person of the regiment including its commander Volodymyr Vasyliovych Kondratyuk were wounded. [2] The regiment participated in the War in Donbass seeing heavy combat in 2014. It took part in the Battle of Ilovaisk during which on 23 August 2014 in the village of Lysyche, Donetsk Oblast, the regiment's troops in coordination with the Border Guard of Ukraine, the regiment destroyed a KamAZ-4350 vehicle with militants and two KamAZ-4350 vehicles carrying weapons and ammunition, accompanied by two APCs from the Russian Federation. [3] Then the two Armored Personnel Carriers along with other vehicles were also destroyed. [4] During the ambush three personnel of the regiment (Smolyar Oleksandr Vasyliovych, [5] [6] [7] Yarysh Oleksandr Volodymyrovych [8] [9] and Oleg Ivanovych Babkevich [10] [11] ) were killed and a soldier of the regiment (Oleksiy Leonidovych Petrov) went missing [12] [13] and his body was later identified via DNA analysis. [14] On the other hand, 26 separatists and Russian soldiers were killed and 20 separatist pieces of equipment were destroyed including the KamAZ-4350s and Ural-4320s. [15] The regiment also saw action during the Battle of the Border, on 24 August 2014, the regiment was withdrawing from the city of Amvrosiivka to Mariupol, when it was ambushed near the Russian border in Kopani but most of the column was able to escape the ambush unscathed [16] but two personnel of the regiment (Vyacheslav Hryhorovych Sarazhan [17] [18] and Yuri Mykolayovych Smirnov [19] ) were killed in action during the ambush.
On 14 October 2021, on the island of Khortytsia, the 19th Public Order Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine was awarded the honorary name "Mykolaiv" and a combat flag. [20]
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the regiment took part in the battle of Mykolaiv in 2022. [21] [22]
Tavr Battalion formerly the Svyatyi Mykolai Battalion, also known as Mykolaiv Battalion, is a battalion of the Tsunami Regiment of the Liut Brigade of the Special Tasks Patrol Police subordinated to Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. It was established in 2014 and has, since then seen regular combat on the frontlines in addition to special counter-crime operations.
The battle of Mykolaiv started on the night of 26 February 2022, as part of the southern Ukraine campaign during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It ended with Russian forces being repulsed from the city in March, and by April all but a few of its surrounding villages were back under Ukrainian control.
8th Separate Special Operations Regiment or the Special Operations Center "West" , unit number A0553, is a regiment of the Special Operations Forces. It is headquartered in the city of Khmelnytskyi and a part of the Joint Rapid Reaction Forces. Since 2014, the regiment has participated in the many battles of the Russo-Ukrainian War being reformed into a separate special operations center in 2022.
18th Marine Battalion is a battalion of the Ukrainian Marine Corps' 35th Marine Brigade and was formerly attached to the 28th Mechanized Brigade. It was initially established as the 18th Territorial Defense Battalion, a volunteer formation based at Odessa, eventually becoming a permanent formation of the Marine Corps.
3rd Separate Air Assault Battalion "Phoenix" is a battalion of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and is subordinated to the 79th Air Assault Brigade. It was established in 2014 as a volunteer formation. It has seen combat in multiple battles during the War in Donbass and Russian invasion of Ukraine including the Shyrokyne standoff, during which it faced significant casualties.
The 1st Air Force Combined Rifle Brigade is the one and only infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Air Force. It was initially established in 2014 as the "Wild Duck" detachment composed of troops from all the units of the Ukrainian Air Force. The 15th Operational Assignment Kara Dag Brigade "Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Bohdan Zavada" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. It is a part of the Ukrainian Offensive Guard and was established as the 9th Special Purpose Regiment in 1994 at the village of Shiroky in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. It has taken part in multiple engagements throughout the Russo-Ukrainian war and is currently deployed on the frontlines in Pokrovsk. It is currently headquartered in Zaporizhzhia City.
The 45th Operational Assignment Lviv Regiment "Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Krasitskyi" is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. It was established on the basis of the 10th Operational Regiment of the Soviet Army in 1992. It has taken part in multiple engagements throughout the Russo-Ukrainian war. It is currently headquartered in Lviv City.
11th Separate Public Order Odessa Brigade "Mykhailo Hrushevsky" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of public law and order, and after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established in 1992 as the 7th Separate National Guard Regiment on the basis of the 42nd Special Motorized Militia Regiment. It is headquartered in Odessa city.
The 21st Separate Public Order Protection Brigade is a law enforcement brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the law and order as well as the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established in 1992 on the basis of the 25th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion as the 6th Regiment. The brigade's main headquarters is in Kryvyi Rih but some parts of it are garrisoned at Kropyvnytskyi.

The 31st Public Order Protection Brigade "Major General Oleksandr Radievskyi" is a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the public order and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The 40th Separate "Danylo Nechai" Regiment is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with safeguarding prisons, mental asylums, medical facilities, escorting arrested and convicted persons, guarding defendants during court proceedings, providing assistance to the police in maintaining public order and protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established as the 8th Separate Brigade on the basis of the 481st Convoy Regiment in 1993. It is headquartered in Vinnytsia.

The 5th Nuclear Power Plant Defense Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with CBRN defense, specifically of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, and has seen action against Russian forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In its current form, it was established in 1991 and is headquartered at Varash.
The 1st Operational Battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine Serhii Kulchytskyi is a volunteer Battalion of the 1st Presidential Brigade, a part of the Offensive Guard of the National Guard of Ukraine. It is an all volunteer Battalion with its personnel being the former members of Maidan Defense and other paramilitary groups established by the Ukrainian opposition during the Revolution of Dignity. It was established in 2014 and is garrisoned at Novi Petrivtsi. It's a highly combat effective formation and has seen heavy combat during both the War in Donbass and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
