The 2003 European Beach Volleyball Championships were held from August 29 to September 1, 2003 in Alanya, Turkey. It was the eleventh official edition of the men's event, which started in 1993, while the women competed for the tenth time. For the first time the event was incorporated in the new CEV European Beach Volleyball Tour, a combined Grand Prix of three tournaments. The first one was staged in Zagreb, Croatia (June 20 to June 22), the second one in Rethymnon, Greece (July 9 to July 13).
Beach volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two players on a sand court divided by a net. As in indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's side of the court, and to prevent the same effort by the opponent.

Sanne Keizer is a Dutch beach volleyball player who plays as a right-side defender with her partner Madelein Meppelink. Her career highlights include two gold, two silver and four bronze medals on the FIVB World Tour. She is a two-time European Champion and she represented the Netherlands at the 2012 Summer Olympics, finishing ninth with Marleen van Iersel.

These page shows the results of the II Beach Volleyball World Championships, held from 19 July to 24 July 1999 in Marseille, France. It was the second official edition of this event, after ten unofficial championships (1987-1996) all held in Rio de Janeiro, and the first to be organized in Europe. The event, organized every two years and with $600,000 in total prize money, was held in a special facility for 5,000 spectators. At the end of the competition the spectators totalled nearly 50,000.
