Werkendam is a town and a former municipality in the southern Netherlands. The municipality, part of Land van Heusden en Altena, contained a large part of De Biesbosch area as is located in the province of North Brabant. On January 1sth 2019 it joined Woudrichem and Aalburg in the new municipality of Altena.

He is the only player to have won Olympic medals of any color in both the indoor and beach volleyball categories. He played college volleyball for the UCLA Bruins, where his teams won three national championships under head coach Al Scates.

She added another medal, Gold, at the 2016 World Tour Finals in Toronto. In 2017, she and Walkenhorst won the World Championship in Vienna.
Debora Schoon-Kadijk is a former professional beach volleyball player from the Netherlands. She twice represented her native country at the Summer Olympics, in 1996 and 2000. Partnering her sister Rebekka Kadijk she claimed the bronze medal at the 2000 European Championships in Bilbao, Spain, after having won silver two years earlier on Rhodes.

She is also the 2011 European champion and the 2013 Mediterranean Games champion, both achieved with Cicolari. Menegatti represented Italy at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, finishing fifth and ninth respectively.

She represented her nation Bulgaria in two editions of the Olympic Games, along with her partner and younger sister Petia. As a junior player in her native Bulgaria, Yanchulova became a four-time National Champion with her club Levski. She trained for most of her beach volleyball sporting career in San Diego, California, United States, while directing and coaching at Coast Volleyball Club.
Sarah Lindsey Pavan is a Canadian beach volleyball and former indoor volleyball player. She was part of the Canada women's national volleyball team at the 2010 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan. With Melissa Humana-Paredes, she won the women's gold medal at the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
