The 17th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held on April 3, 2004. The event was hosted by Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz to promote Shrek 2 . This would be the first time the award show was held at the Pauley Pavilion since 1999. The ceremony is also notable as leading into "Mystery Meat", the pilot episode and first airing of the animated series Danny Phantom .

Lizzie McGuire is an American comedy television series created by Terri Minsky that premiered on Disney Channel on January 12, 2001. The series stars Hilary Duff as the titular character who learns to navigate the personal and social issues of her teenage years. Duff also voices an animated version of Lizzie that performs soliloquies to express the character's inner thoughts and emotions. The series also stars Lalaine, Adam Lamberg, Jake Thomas, Hallie Todd, and Robert Carradine. The series concluded on February 14, 2004, after a total of 65 episodes were produced. A feature film based on the series, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, was released in 2003.

Bruce Almighty is a 2003 American fantasy comedy film directed by Tom Shadyac and written by Steve Koren, Mark O'Keefe and Steve Oedekerk. The film stars Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, a down-on-his-luck television reporter who complains to God that he is not doing his job correctly and is offered the chance to try being God himself for one week. It co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Philip Baker Hall and Catherine Bell. The film is Shadyac and Carrey's third collaboration, after Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) and Liar Liar (1997).

The fifth annual Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards were held on 10 October 2007 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The show was hosted by The Veronicas and Zac Efron. Voting for the nominees of the awards commenced on 1 July 2007 and ended on 22 July 2007 and on 1 August 2007 the full list of nominees were announced with new category Biggest Greenie. On 14 August 2007 the voting commenced. Torrie Wilson and Bobby Lashley were also scheduled to appear.

The award show was held in the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California. This was the last time O'Donnell would host the awards. By this point, she had hosted the awards seven times in a row. The announcers were Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee from The Fairly OddParents, in character as Cosmo and Wanda, respectively, for the event.

The 28th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was held on March 28, 2015, at the Forum in Inglewood, California, United States, and hosted by Nick Jonas. The show was broadcast at 8:00 PM (ET/PT), produced by Nickelodeon Productions, with a simulcast in the United States also carried across sister networks TeenNick, Nicktoons and TV Land, along with the network's mobile apps and website. It was led into by a double episode of The Thundermans. There were 4 new categories this year. Voting took place in six continents on 19 localized websites, along with various simulcasts across the world, on either live or tape-delayed. Despite the simulcast, the show suffered a deep drop from the 2014 ceremony, attracting approximately 3,630,000 million total viewers for the original American airing, a drop of 27% from year to year. TV sitcom Austin & Ally swept the KCAs, taking home 3 blimps; the series is the second from Disney Channel to win favorite kids show in KCA history.
