Marco Chiudinelli is a retired tennis player from Switzerland. A member of Switzerland's winning 2014 Davis Cup squad, he reached his highest singles ranking of 52 in February 2010 during a career that was often hindered by injury.
Defending champion Roger Federer defeated Fernando González in the final, 7–6(7–2), 6–4, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2007 Australian Open. It was his third Australian Open title and his tenth major title overall. Federer became the first man to win a major without dropping a set since Björn Borg at the 1980 French Open, and the first to do so in a major played on hardcourts. Also, Federer made a record-equaling seventh consecutive major final appearance, after Jack Crawford during the 1930s, and became the first man to reach eleven consecutive major semifinals. González became the first Chilean to reach a major final since Marcelo Ríos in 1998.
Three-time defending champion Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 7–6(7–4), 7–6(7–2), 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2007 US Open. It was his fourth consecutive US Open title and 12th major title overall. With the win, Federer marked his third year in which he won three of the four majors. Also, he reached a record-equaling 14th consecutive major quarterfinal, after Roy Emerson and Ivan Lendl. It was Djokovic's maiden major final, and the first of an eventual record 33 major final appearances.
Novak Djokovic defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final, 4–6, 6–4, 6–3, 7–6(7–2) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2008 Australian Open. It was his first major title, the first of a record ten Australian Open titles, and the first of an all-time joint-record 22 major men's singles titles overall. Djokovic became the first Serbian man to win a major singles title. It was the first major final since the 2005 Australian Open not to feature either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal, who were beaten by Djokovic and Tsonga, respectively, in the semifinals. Alongside second-seeded Nadal, Tsonga defeated three more seeds en route to the final, including ninth-seed Andy Murray.
