The 2005 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship for Women Division B was the first edition of the Division B of the Women's European basketball championship for national under-20 teams. It was held in Druskininkai, Lithuania, from 1 to 8 July 2005. [1] Israel women's national under-20 basketball team won the tournament.

The FIBA U20 European Championship, previously known as the European Championship for Men '22 and Under', is a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1992 edition. Through the 2004 edition, it was held biennially, but since 2005 edition, it is held every year. The tournament was originally an Under-22 age tournament, but it is now an Under-20 age tournament. The current champions are Spain.

The Israel women's national basketball team represents Israel in international women's basketball matches and is controlled by the Israel Basketball Association. Israel have hosted the FIBA Women's EuroBasket in 1991, and hosted again in 2023 along with Slovenia.

It was held in Sopron, Hungary, from 7 to 16 July 2006. Russia women's national under-20 basketball team won the tournament and became the European champions for the third time.
