Two-time defending champion Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick in a rematch of the previous year's final, 6–2, 7–6(7–2), 6–4 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2005 Wimbledon Championships. It was his third Wimbledon title and fifth major title overall. It was the second of three years that Federer defeated Roddick in the final. It was also the pair's third straight meeting at Wimbledon, after the 2003 semifinals and the 2004 final.
Defending champion Roger Federer defeated Fernando González in the final, 7–6(7–2), 6–4, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2007 Australian Open. It was his third Australian Open title and his tenth major title overall. Federer became the first man to win a major without losing a set since Björn Borg at the 1980 French Open, and the first to do so in a major played on hardcourts. Also, Federer made a record-equaling seventh consecutive major final appearance, after Jack Crawford during the 1930s, and became the first man to reach eleven consecutive major semifinals. González became the first Chilean to reach a major final since Marcelo Ríos in 1998.
Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–2, 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2007 Indian Wells Masters. He did not lose a single set in the entire tournament. By reaching the final, Djokovic entered the world's top 10 in rankings for the first time in his career.

Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer in the final, 7–5, 3–6, 7–6(7–3), 3–6, 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2009 Australian Open. It was his first Australian Open title and his sixth major title overall. Nadal became the first Spaniard to win the title. It was Federer's third defeat to Nadal in a major final in the past eight months, following losses at the 2008 French Open and 2008 Wimbledon Championships.
Marat Safin defeated Radek Štěpánek in the final, 6–3, 7–6(7–5), 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2004 Paris Masters. It was his third Paris Masters title and 14th career singles title overall. Safin also became the first man to win the final two Masters tournaments of the season, after the Madrid Masters the week before.

Four-time defending champion Rafael Nadal successfully defended his title, defeating David Ferrer in a rematch of the previous year's final, 6–2, 7–5, to win the singles title at the 2009 Barcelona Open. It was his record-extending fifth title at the Barcelona Open.
Roger Federer defeated Robin Söderling in the final, 6–1, 7–6(7–1), 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2009 French Open. It was his first French Open title and 14th major title overall, completing the career Grand Slam and equaling Pete Sampras' then-record of men's singles major titles. It was Federer's fourth consecutive French Open final, having lost the previous three to Rafael Nadal. Söderling became the first Scandinavian major finalist since Thomas Johansson at the 2002 Australian Open.

Ivan Ljubičić defeated Andy Roddick in the final, 7–6(7–3), 7–6(7–5) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2010 Indian Wells Masters. It was his first Masters title, making him the oldest maiden Masters champion.

It was his first US Open title and ninth major title overall, completing the career Golden Slam. Nadal became the second man since Rod Laver in 1969 to win the French Open, Wimbledon Championships, and the US Open , as well as the first man in history to win the Surface Slam. He lost only one set during the tournament, to Djokovic in the final.
