Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were held on 5 March 2005. [1]

Contents

The election result was a landslide victory for the Left Front. The Left Front, with 71.63% of the votes cast, won all 28 seats that were up for election. [1] 21 seats went to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), 4 seats for NSPT, one seat to the Communist Party of India, one seat for RSP and one seat to the All India Forward Bloc. [1]

The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra was the second largest party with 13.22% vote share and Indian National Congress emerged as a third-largest party in the election with 12.70% of the votes.

Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were held on 3 May 2010. On that day elections were held for 27 of the 28 elected seats in the Autonomous District Council. In one seat (Maharani-Chellagong) the election was countermanded, following the death of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Ranjit Jamatia. 25 of the 28 elected seats in the Autonomous District Council are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) is a regional political party in Tripura, India. It is a member of the North-East Democratic Alliance and North-East Regional Political Front, a group of political parties of the northeast that supports the National Democratic Alliance (India). The party existed from 1997 to 2001 until it was merged into the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT), and reformed in 2009. The party is allied with BJP in the 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election and won 8 seats out of 9 contested seats. The party got 7.5% of the total votes polled. The BJP got 36 seats and with a total of 44 seats the BJP-IPFT coalition have two-third majority at the Legislative Assembly.

Tipraland is the name of a proposed state in India for the Tripuri people who inhabit the Tripura Tribal Areas.

The politics of Tripura, a state in Northeast India, has been dominated by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. As of 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the ruling party in the states's legislative assembly, while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) candidates won the two parliamentary constituencies in 2014 Indian general election.

On 15 July 2014 elections to local bodies were held in the Indian state of Tripura. The Tripura State Election Commission announced the election date on 28 April 2014. This was the fifth panchayat election since the introduction of directly elected panchayats in Tripura in 1994. The number of eligible voters stood at 1,108,190.

Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were held on 4 May 2015. 25 of the 28 elected seats in the Autonomous District Council are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.

The Left Front is a political alliance in the Indian state of Tripura. The Left Front governed Tripura 1978-1988, and again from 1993 to 2018. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is the dominant party in the coalition. 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election

The 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election was held on 18 February for 59 of the state's 60 constituencies. The counting of votes took place on 3 March 2018. With 43% of the vote, the BJP secured a majority of seats (36) and subsequently formed government with Biplab Kumar Deb as Chief Minister. The former governing Left Front alliance while receiving 42.7% of the vote secured only 16 seats.

Birendra Chandra Dutta was an Indian communist politician. He founded the communist movement in Tripura. Dutta was a member of the 1st Lok Sabha, the 3rd Lok Sabha (1962-1967) and the 5th Lok Sabha (1971-1977).

Biplab Kumar Deb 10th Chief minister of Indian state of Tripura

Biplab Kumar Deb is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Tripura. He has been the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura since 7 January 2016. He led the BJP to victory in the 2018 Legislative Assembly Election, defeating 25 years rule of the Left Front government led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He took his oath as the 10th Chief Minister of Tripura on 9 March 2018.

Radha Charan Debbarma is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Executive Member of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council from May 2015 to May 2020. He is a member of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the current General Secretary of GMP the tribal wing of the party. Debbarma was Executive Member of TTAADC from 2005 to 2015. Debbarma's term expired on 17 May 2020 and following the postponement of elections a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, TTAADC is currently under Governor's rule.

Sudhanwa Debbarma was an Indian Kokborok writer, Political leader and member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He was the former Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly. He was the veteran leader of Ganamukti Parishad. He was a member of Tripura Legislative Assembly from Takarjala (1977-1988).

Tribal Students Union Student Organisation

Tribal Students Union or TSU is a Student organisation of Tripura, it is affiliated to Students' Federation of India. The TSU is the student wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Tripura.
