Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were held on 4 May 2015. 25 of the 28 elected seats in the Autonomous District Council are reserved for Scheduled Tribes. [1]
There were 638,060 eligible votes cast in the elections. The electoral turnout stood at 83%. The votes were counted on 6 May 2015. The election result was a landslide victory for the Left Front. The Left Front, with 48.88% of the votes cast, won all 28 seats that were up for election. 25 seats went to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), one seat to the Communist Party of India, one seat to the RSP and one seat to the All India Forward Bloc. The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) emerged as a second-largest party in the election. The party finished second in 17 seats. Other parties in the fray were the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura, National Conference of Tripura, All India Trinamool Congress and BJP.

Tripura is a state in northeastern India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491 km2 (4,051 sq mi) and is bordered by Bangladesh to the north, south, and west, and the Indian states of Assam and Mizoram to the east. In 2011 the state had 3,671,032 residents, constituting 0.3% of the country's population.

The All India Forward Bloc (AIFB) is a left-wing nationalist political party in India. It emerged as a faction within the Indian National Congress in 1939, led by Subhas Chandra Bose. The party re-established as an independent political party after the independence of India. It has its main stronghold in West Bengal. The party's current Secretary-General is Debabrata Biswas. Veteran Indian politicians Sarat Chandra Bose and Chitta Basu had been the stalwarts of the party in independent India.

National Socialist Party of Tripura is a political party in the Indian state of Tripura. NSPT was formed when Hirendra Tripura and others broke away from the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura in the summer of 2003. One of the principal leaders of INPT, Shyamcharan Tripura, took the side of NSPT. With the help of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) members in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council NSPT were quickly able to win control over the TTAADC.

The National Conference of Tripura (NCT) is a new regional political party of the state of Tripura, India formed in December 2006 at Darjeelingpara in Teliamura. It was formed by Rabindra Kishore Debbarma, formerly of the GMP of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) in Tripura, and Animesh Debbarma of Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT). The NCT included many disaffected members of the Twipra Students Union, the Tribal Youth Federation and the GMP of the CPIM party in Tripura, and leaders from INPT. The NCT contested the 2013 state elections but did not win any seats.

The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) is a regional political party in Tripura, India. It is a member of the North-East Democratic Alliance and North-East Regional Political Front, a group of political parties of the northeast that supports the National Democratic Alliance (India). The party existed from 1997 to 2001 until it was merged into the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT), and reformed in 2009. The party is allied with BJP in the 2018 Tripura Legislative Assembly election and won 8 seats out of 9 contested seats. The party got 7.5% of the total votes polled. The BJP got 36 seats and with a total of 44 seats the BJP-IPFT coalition have two-thirds majority at the Legislative Assembly.
Tipraland is the name of a proposed state in India for the indigenous Tripuri people in the tribal areas of the Tripura state. They demand the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council and some surrounding areas to be made into a Separate State from Tripura. The proposed state covers 68% of the total geographical area of the Tripura and is home to over one-third of the total population of Tripura.

Biplab Kumar Deb is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Tripura. He has been the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura since 7 January 2016 till 2018. He led the BJP to victory in the 2018 Legislative Assembly Election, defeating 25 years rule of the Left Front government led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He took his oath as the 10th Chief Minister of Tripura on 9 March 2018.

Radha Charan Debbarma is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Executive Member of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council from May 2015 to May 2020. He is a member of Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the current General Secretary of GMP the tribal wing of the party. Debbarma was Executive Member of TTAADC from 2005 to 2015. Debbarma's term expired on 17 May 2020 and following the postponement of elections a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, TTAADC is currently under Governor's rule.
