The 2005 Tuvalu A-Division (also known as the 2005 National Provident Fund Championship League[ citation needed ]) is the fifth season of association football competition in Tuvalu. [1] The champions were Nauti FC. [2]
Football in Tuvalu is played at club and national team level. The Tuvalu national football team draws from players in the Tuvalu A-Division; the national team competes in the Pacific Games and South Pacific Games. The national team is controlled by the Tuvalu National Football Association (TNFA).
All listed teams apparently represent atolls, with the exception of Amatuku (an island on Funafuti atoll); the atolls Nukulaelae and Niulakita apparently did not enter. [2]

Tuvalu is an island country and microstate in the Polynesian subregion of Oceania in the Pacific Ocean. Its islands are situated about midway between Hawaii and Australia. They lie east-northeast of the Santa Cruz Islands, northeast of Vanuatu, southeast of Nauru, south of Kiribati, west of Tokelau, northwest of Samoa and Wallis and Futuna, and north of Fiji. Tuvalu is composed of three reef islands and six atolls. They are spread out between the latitude of 5° and 10° south and between the longitude of 176° and 180°. They lie west of the International Date Line. Tuvalu has a population of 11,204. The total land area of the islands of Tuvalu is 26 square kilometres (10 sq mi).
The Kiribati national football team is the national men's football team of Kiribati and is controlled by the Kiribati Islands Football Association. Kiribati is not a member of FIFA but is an associate member of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), and is therefore not eligible to enter the FIFA World Cup but may enter the OFC Nations Cup. It became a provisional member of the N.F.-Board on 10 December 2005.

Tuvalu A-Division or The National Provident Fund Championship League (NPF) is the top football division in Tuvalu. Eight of the nine islands in Tuvalu are represented in the competition. Niulakita is the only island that has no football club. Some clubs have two teams competing. The competition takes place at the 1,500-capacity Tuvalu Sports Ground in Funafuti, this is the only soccer field in Tuvalu. Because of this all of the clubs are located at the head island but still represent their own eight islands.
Funafuti is the capital of the island nation of Tuvalu. It has a population of 6,320 people, and so it has more people than the rest of Tuvalu combined, with approximately 60% of the population. It consists of a narrow sweep of land between 20 and 400 metres wide, encircling a large lagoon 18 km long and 14 km wide. The average depth of the Funafuti lagoon is about 20 fathoms. With a surface area of 275 square kilometres (106.2 sq mi), it is by far the largest lagoon in Tuvalu. The land area of the 33 islets around the atoll of Funafuti totals 2.4 square kilometres (0.9 sq mi); taken together, they constitute less than one percent of the total area of the atoll. Cargo ships can enter Funafuti's lagoon and dock at the port facilities on Fongafale.
Association football is the most popular sport in Tuvalu. Football in Tuvalu is governed by the Tuvalu National Football Association (TNFA). The TNFA became an associate member association of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) on 15 November 2006 with a further reinstatement on 16 March 2020. The TNFA has been wanting to become a full member of the OFC and a member of FIFA since 1987.
Nauti FC is a Tuvalu football club from Funafuti, playing in the Tuvalu A-Division.
Etimoni Timuani is a Tuvaluan sportsman. He is a footballer and sprinter specializing in the 100 m distance. Timuani is a father-of-two from Funafuti who works for the Tuvalu National Provident Fund, the national pension scheme.
The 2011 Tuvalu A-Division is the 11th season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season began on 29 January 2011 and ended on 12 March 2011. Nauti FC were the defending champions.
The 2012 Tuvalu A-Division was the 12th season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season began on 4 February 2012 and finished on 17 March 2012. The champions were Nauti FC who won their seventh league title.
The Tuvalu Games is a multi-sport event, much like the Pacific Games, with participation exclusively from islands around Tuvalu.
The 2007 Tuvalu A-Division was the third season of association football competition. The league was won by Nauti FC for the second time. the league returned to the single division format from the two pool format with a play-off used in the previous season. The league, which started on 17 February, was renamed, TNPF Soccer League.
The 2009 Tuvalu A-Division was the ninth season of association football competition. The league was won by Nauti FC for the third consecutive time and the fourth time overall. The league was renamed for the fourth consecutive season, this time being called the Funafuti League.
The 2010 Tuvalu A-Division was the tenth season of association football competition. The league was won by Nauti FC for the fourth consecutive time and the fifth time overall. For the 2010 season, the league was named the Funafuti League.
The 2013 Tuvalu A-Division was the 13th season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season started on 9 March 2013 and finished on 6 April 2013. The champions were Nauti FC who won their eighth league title.
The 2013 Tuvalu A-Division (women) was the 5th season of top flight football in Tuvalu. The season started on 9 March 2013 and finished on 23 March 2013.
The 2014 Tuvalu A-Division was the 14th season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season started on 22 February 2014 and finished on 8 April 2014.
The 2019 Tuvalu A-Division was the 19th season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season started and finish on 2019.
The 2020 Tuvalu A-Division was the 20th season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season started in March 14 and finish on May 23 of the 2020.
The 2021 Tuvalu A-Division was the 21st season of top flight association football in Tuvalu. The season started in 6 March and finished on 17 April 2021.
