The 2007 SEABA Championship for Women was held in Phuket, Thailand from October 14 to October 20. The Philippines swept all of their assignments in the elimination round and beat Indonesia in the semifinals, but Thailand beat them in the championship match to clinch their fourth title.

The Singapore national football team represents Singapore in the senior men's international football. Buriram United Football Club is a Thai professional football club based in Buriram. The club has played at the top level of Thai football for the majority of their existence and is competing in the Thai League 1. The club was founded in 1970 as PEA FC before being reformed as Buriram PEA and Buriram United in 2010 and 2012 respectively. Their home stadium is Chang Arena, which has a capacity of 32,600.
Somjit Jongjohor is an amateur Thai boxer best known for winning gold medals in the flyweight division at the 2003 World Amateur Boxing Championships and at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Elephant polo is a variant of polo played while riding elephants. It is played in Nepal, Rajasthan (India), and Thailand. England and Scotland regularly field teams. Equipment consists of a standard polo ball and six to ten foot cane sticks with a polo mallet head on the end. The pitch is three-quarters of the length of a standard polo pitch, due to the lower speed of the elephants. Two people ride each elephant; the elephants are steered by mahouts, while the player tells the mahout which way to go and hits the ball.
The 2008 Thai Premier League had 16 teams. It was the twelfth since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 18 February 2008, and the season ended on 11 October 2008. Three teams would be relegated to Thailand Division 1 League. The Champion in this season would qualify for the AFC Champions League 2009 qualification stage and the runner-up would be enter the AFC Cup 2009. The official name of the league at this time was Thailand Premier League.

Suphachai "Saenchai" Saepong, formerly known as Saenchai Sor. Kingstar, is a Muay Thai fighter of Khon Isan descent. Saenchai won the Lumpinee Stadium title, which is widely considered the most prestigious title in Muay Thai, in four different weight divisions, while mostly fighting larger opponents. He is considered by many to be the best pound for pound Muay Thai fighter, and is regarded as one of the best fighters of all time. Saenchai would often give up weight to find worthy opponents in Thailand, and from 2003-2014 only lost two times in Thailand when the weights were equal, with all other losses happening when he was forced to have a weight disadvantage to make the fights more evenly matched. Against foreigners the gap in skill is so great he will go up as high as 147 pounds, which is 15+ pounds above his optimal weight class.

She is known for her relaxed hitting motion and light footwork, which has been described as 'balletic' by commentators such as Gillian Clark. She became the world champion in women's singles in 2013.

Superlek Kiatmookao is a Thai Muay Thai fighter originally from Buriram in the northeast of Thailand. He is the current ONE Kickboxing Flyweight World Champion, he is also former two weight Lumpinee Stadium champion and the former WBC Muaythai Super featherweight World champion. He was voted the Sports Authority of Thailand 2012 Muay Thai Fighter of the Year.
Suphanat Mueanta is a Thai professional footballer who plays as a forward for Buriram United and the Thailand national team, he is the younger brother of Supachok Sarachat.
