William L. Grayson Stadium is a stadium in Savannah, Georgia. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Savannah Bananas, an exhibition baseball team. It was the part-time home of the Savannah State University college baseball team from 2009 to 2011. It was also used from 1927 until 1959 for the annual Thanksgiving Day game between Savannah High School and Benedictine Military School. Known as "Historic Grayson Stadium", it was built in 1926. It holds 4,000 people. It also served as the home of the Savannah Sand Gnats from 1984 to 2015.

Tiger Arena is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Savannah, Georgia, United States. It is home to the Savannah State University Tigers men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team. Tiger Arena has previously hosted the Georgia High School Association boys and girls playoffs, the annual Georgia Athletic Coaches Association's North-South All-Star Game (2003-2008), and the Savannah Holiday Classic high school girls basketball tournament. It was also home to the Savannah Steam of American Indoor Football.

Josh Mallard is a former American football defensive end. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played college football at Georgia.

Russell Ellington was an American basketball coach. He served as the head basketball coach at Savannah State College—now known as Savannah State University—from 1976 to 1984 and Morris Brown College from 1997 to 2000, compiling a career college basketball coaching record of 181–141. He also coached the Harlem Globetrotters for nine years. His titles as a coach include: four state high school basketball championships; three Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAA) titles; two Region XVII Junior College championships, and one NJCCA District 10 championship.

Erik Raeburn is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, a position he has held since November 2019. Raeburn served as head football coach Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 2000 to 2007, Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana from 2008 to 2015, and Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia from 2016 to 2018. The 2009 Savannah State Tigers football team represented Savannah State University in American football. The Tigers were members of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision as an independent. This was the second season under the guidance of head coach Robby Wells.

The 1906 Florida football team was the first intercollegeate football squad fielded by the University of Florida, which was established in 1905 and opened its new Gainesville campus for the 1906–1907 academic year. Florida was a member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the United States (IAAUS) but was not yet affiliated with an athletic conference. The university had not yet constructed on-campus sports facilities, so until 1911, its football and baseball teams played and practiced at a municipal park near downtown Gainesville known simply as The Ballpark.

The Savannah State Lady Tigers women's basketball team represents Savannah State University in women's basketball. The school competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Lady Tigers play home games at Tiger Arena in Savannah, Georgia. The current head coach is Cedric Baker. Baker was named head coach on July 30, 2003.
