The Korisliiga is the premier basketball league in Finland. The 2007-08 season was the 68th Finnish club basketball season. It began on October 6, 2007 and ended on April 27, 2008. The Espoon Honka successfully defended their national championship with a 3-1 victory over the Kouvot. [1] Petteri Koponen won the MVP Award and Akeem Scott won the Finals MVP Award. [2]

The Korisliiga is the top-tier professional basketball league in Finland, comprising the top 12 teams of the country. In its current format, each team plays all other teams two times in the regular season, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 regular season games. The top six teams advances continues to upper stage and the bottom six teams plays lower stage after 22 games, 5 games at home and 5 games at away versus all other teams in stage. The best two teams from lower group joins to playoffs with upper group teams. Playoffs are played best of seven format, except the quarter-finals which are played best of 5 format. Pantterit holds the record for the most league titles won, with 14. The top level Finnish league for women is the Naisten Korisliiga.

Petteri Johannes Koponen is a Finnish former professional basketball player. Standing at 1.94 m, he played both point guard and shooting guard positions. He was drafted as the 30th pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2007 NBA draft, and his NBA rights are currently held by the Dallas Mavericks.

The 2007–08 Philadelphia 76ers season was the 69th season of the franchise, 59th in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Sixers finished the regular season at 40-42. In the first round of the playoffs, they lost to the Detroit Pistons in six games.

The Korisliiga is the premier basketball league in Finland. The 2006-07 season was the 67th Finnish club basketball season. It began on September 30, 2006 and ended on April 24, 2007. Espoon Honka won the Final series by 3-0 against Namika Lahti and obtained their sixth national championship. Sami Lehtoranta won the MVP Award and Jukka Matinen won the Finals MVP Award.

The 2013–14 Korisliiga season was the 74th season of the Finnish national championship named Korisliiga, the highest professional basketball league in Finland. The defending champion was Bisons Loimaa. Kyle Fogg was both scoring champion and league MVP, while Antero Lehto was named Player of the Year. Tampereen Pyrintö took the title, its third in history.

In the Korisliiga, the top Finnish professional basketball league, two awards are considered the Most Valuable Player award. The first, the Player of the Year, goes to the best Finnish player in the league. The second, is the Best Foreigner.
