Pierre Julien Turgeon is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. Selected first overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, Turgeon played in the NHL for the Sabres, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche. He is the younger brother of former NHL player Sylvain Turgeon. He is one of 46 players to have scored 500 goals. Turgeon was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 13, 2023.

Among her many accomplishments are four Olympic gold medals, 12 IIHF Women's World Championship medals, 12 Four Nations Cup medals and four Clarkson Cup championships.

The head coach was Brian McCloskey. Assisting him were Erin Whitten and Stephanie Jones.

The Maine Black Bears women’s ice hockey team represents the University of Maine. The team plays their home games in Alfond Arena. The team's first year of play was in 1997–98. The Black Bears finished 6th in the 2019-2020 season, advancing to the semi-finals of the Hockey East tournament, before losing to the eventual champions Northeastern Huskies by a score of 1-3. The 2020 Hockey East women's ice hockey tournament was cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but Maine would not have qualified even if the tournament had been played. Hockey East announced plans in July 2020 to play the 2020-2021 hockey season, with an emphasis on league play.

The 2006–07 Dartmouth Big Green women's ice hockey team represented Dartmouth College. Olympic hockey player Gillian Apps was elected as the Big Green's team captain.

Gustav Nyquist is a Swedish professional ice hockey forward for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the San Jose Sharks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild.

Tara Leigh-Anne Watchorn is a Canadian women's ice hockey coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Boston University women's ice hockey team. Watchorn was born in Ajax, Ontario, but grew up in Newcastle, Ontario.

The Boston University Terriers women's hockey team represented Boston University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Terriers were coached by Brian Durocher. The seniors on the Terriers squad were Kasey Boucher, Jenn Wakefield, Carly Warren and Tara Watchorn. Boston University won its second Hockey East Championship in three seasons. In addition, the Terriers qualified for their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. At season's end, BU recorded a 23–14–1 record, marking the program's second straight 20-win season. The club triumphed in seven of its final eight games of the year, while earning a fifth-place ranking.

In the 2011–12 Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey season they will attempt to win their first NCAA Women's Frozen Four title. Head coach Maria Lewis returns for her second season. Lewis led the Black Bears to the Hockey East Tournament in the previous season and helped the Black Bears double their win total from the previous season. The Black Bears return 14 letterwinners for the season. Dawn Sullivan will serve as the Black Bears captain. In the past season, she registered eight goals and nine assists for 17 points.

The Merrimack Warriors women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college ice hockey program. The Warriors are a new member of Hockey East. They play at the 2,549-seat J. Thom Lawler Arena in North Andover, Massachusetts.
